Save her

"WE NEED HELP!" Steven screamed out into the hospital. Right away dozes of doctors and nurses swarmed Connie, put her on a stretcher and rushed her into a hospital room.

4 hours later
Stevens pov

I've been here for the last 4 hours with my head in my hands in tears, Garnet and Amethyst are next to me doing everything they could to cheer me up.
"Mr. Universe?" A nurse called out and as soon as she did I popped up from my chair, my eyes stained with red and tears. I chased after the nurse until we got to Connie's room. She was laying on the hospital bed with all sorts of medical equipment I didn't understand.
"Is she okay?" I questioned the nurse and she looked down at her feet.
"She's doing well," As she said that I released  the breath I had been holding in for the last 4 hours and began to cry again. " She should be better in about 8 weeks."
"8 whole weeks?" I whined.
"Well yes," she explained. "I mean she did suffer severe organ damage, I mean it's a miracle she even alive!" I hurled my head to the side and wiped my eyes before a screaming Dr. Maheswaran came bursting into the room in tears.
"CONNIE! Oh I knew this would happen," she turned to me with a face full of tears and hatred, " You! Universe, your responsible for this I'm sure of it!" She pointed at me and I just nodded and walked out of the room. I walked out of the hospital and walked all the way home with my head down.
"STEVEN!" Amethyst touched my shoulder and asked me if she was allrighy, I nodded and ran up in front of them.

Garnet pov

I knew this was a bad idea. But I never could have imagined this would be the path Connie's fate would have chose, Steven says she alright but I still feel as if I'm to blame.
"Steven please! We are trying to help you." I called out to him as he walked home in tears.
"I SAID SHE'S FINE OKAY!" Turned around to me with a face full of tears, seeing him like with remind me of when he was only 13, and he could barley manage to summon a bubble. He and Connie have grown so much since then, so how could she be defeated by such a novice level enemy.

BACK AT THE HOUSE

As soon as we got home Steven ran into his room and Amethyst and I looked at each other and rushed into her room to chase after him.
"Okay ros-stevens room is up here." we jumped to the top of a near by pile if garbage and up to a aroma of baby pink clouds.
As soon as we arrived we could Steven on his knees crying in front of a 12 year old cloud Connie.
"I'm so sorry Connie. I should have never let you fight with me, I knew you would have just gotten hurt!" he pounded his fist on the ground and I walked over to him and gave him a hug and Amethyst soon followed. As soon as we did this he started to ball his eyes out and told us about how she was on his back and then the monster ripped her from him when they tried to fuse. We told him Pearl has probably made short work of the ship and we will tell her about what happened. We all walked out of roses room into the living and used the warp whistle to summon Pearl back.
