Stevens POV
It has been 7 weeks since Connie was admitted to the hospital, I went to see
her everyday she woke up
~flashback~
"She's awake!?" I said to the doctor and she nodded happily and led me into her room.
Indeed she was awake and I big smile grew onto my face as I rushed her side, the doctor smiled and lightly closed the door probably thinking about "young love" or something.
"CONNIE! Your awake I'm so glad i-" she cut my off putting her index finger up to my mouth and smiled. Just then she leaned in and kissed passionatly. I was a little shocked at first but soon embraced her in her hospital bed. We kissed until we needed air and by the end we were both a shade of bright red.
"I love you" she said putting her small hands into my large ones. My eyes widened and I was blushing even harder then ever before.
"I love too!" I finally said quickly before she got the idea that the love was only one sided.
As soon I got back to the temple I had told everyone (including Peridot and Lapis.) about Connie and I and everyone was excited, even lapis seemed to be enjoying the news.
"I KNEW IT! Ne-hahaha" Peridot said laughing at her own "victory."
I looked down and blushed a little and the rest of the gems smiled a bit. Thinking about everything we have been through in the last 6 years, it was fate really.
~end of flashback~
Right now I was going to the flower shop to pick up some knew flowers and brought them to the hospital with me, I got her Daisy's up replace the Lilly's I had bought her the day before.
When I got to the hospital I checked myself in as a guest but I moved the pen so fast it looked it was doing it by itself.
"Hey," I peered my head into the doorway and smiled, but for some reason she looked incredibly sad. "Connie? Are you okay?" I walked up to her bed and squeezed her hand. She quickly looked up to me with an innocent face and smiled up at me.
"Um," she pulled her hand from mine and twiddled her thumbs. "M-my mom said I can't fight with you and the crystal gems anymore."
~flashback~
Connie's POV
"But mom-" she cut me off, she was going on about how I should never be allowed to pick up that pink sword that I held so dear to my my heart.
"No Connie!," she said in a quiet but stern tone,"I'm not going to risk losing you again!" She walked put her hand on the door knob.
"MOM LISTEN TO ME GOD DAMMIT!" she quickly turned her hand of the door and faced me with a seriously shocked face.
"C-Connie..." she said still as surprised as ever.
"Mom, I don't mean to curse but you never listen to me! It's always just what you think best for me and never let me make my own choices, hell I haven't made my own choice in 6 years (when she started sword fighting with Steven.) " Connie sat straight up now staring her mother in the face.
"You actually think that getting slashed in the stomach by a monster is a good choice?" she looked at me with concern in hers eyes but I brushed it away.
"You need to understand ," I consoled her," I've devoted my life to the blade, I'm willing to do anything for it. I saw a single tear fall from her eyes and make its way down to her jawline.
"N-No!," she caught her breath,"I will NOT stand by and let my little girl do this to herself." I gritted my teeth and gave her a look of disgust.
"Ok fine leave." I turned my head to the side even though it was obvious I was crying and pointed to the door.

Back to Stevens POV
"W-what?" I said in disbelief.
"I'm sorry! I told her that I had sworn my life to the blade and I would die for but she didn't listen!" She sat up to my level and said apologetically.
"No it's not your fault." I looked down at my feet then up at her with a weak smile.
"You know what," she looked at me with same determined face from when she started sword works with. "I'm going it anyways! I've sworn my life to your mother's sword and I'm not about to give up on it all now!"
"Connie... But what if you get hurt again? That way really scary." I said sheepishly.
"Your just like her," her face when back to its original state when I came cameninside. "YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND I WANT TO FIGHT!That's all I want."
"Oh okay, you know I can't say no to you." I signed and kissed her forehead
