Chapter 4

It had been a few weeks since Jack had asked me out and we finally had a moment free to go on our date. We had both been super busy with school work and preparation for the show in 3 weeks time. Jack had told me to meet him at the stables at 11. Jules and I had been up till 12 planning and trying to guess what he had planned, obviously it had something to do with horses. Jules and I had planned my outfit which had to be pretty and practical. We decided on a nice pair of denim shorts and a top that's neckline cut to just above my boobs with a nice pair of pink sneakers to match the top. I also decided to wear my bikini underneath as I know we have a pond on the stable property. I woke up at 9:30 and quickly jumped in the shower. After I had showered and dried my hair I curled it. I peaked at the clock on my dressing table from in front of my closet. 10:15, still 30 minutes before I had to leave. I dressed and walked to my dressing table. I pulled out my make up bag, I know what you're thinking if I am prepping to swim why am I putting on makeup well that's where my secret weapon comes in waterproofing spray for makeup. I did a natural look; mascara, brown eye shadow, concealer, powder and a light lip-gloss. 10:40, I packed my phone and some more lip-gloss in an over the shoulder bag and walked out the door. I knew how to drive and my mum wouldn't have minded but I decided to walk since I had time and I didn't live far.

I got there at exactly 11 and quickly spotted Jack holding our horses, Polo and Janna. I walked over and gave them all a kiss on the cheek then I noticed they only had bridles on. "Where we heading?" I asked. "That, gorgeous, is a surprise." Jack replied and I pouted. He gave me a leg up and then bounced onto Polo. I always admired his ability to do that. We walked next to each other in comfortable silence, holding hands. Polo and Janna seeming to know where to go. I noticed Polo had wet hooves and could only assume Jack had gone out earlier to set up. We walked through the woods to a clearing, I stopped in awe. The trees provided shade over the clearing and there was the pond on the one side. Jack had strung up fairy lights in the trees and there was a picnic blanket on the floor with a basket. Near the pond was some hay for the horses.

"It's beautiful Jack, when did you get time to do this? It must have taken forever." "Well I had a bit of help." Jules you lying amazing friend. She knew I had always dreamed of a date like this. "And nothing is too good for you." I looked at him and smiled. I could not believe he planned all this for me. We both dismounted and walked the horses to the hay; they were well trained and would stay there while we had our picnic. Jack pulled me by the hand to join him on the picnic blanket. I sat next to him and took my sneakers off. He pulled out some Doritos and a bottle of coke. My favourite. He poured us both a glass. "Thank you, for the coke, the picnic and the wonderful surprise." I said with a smile looking into his brown eyes that were swimming with a mix of happiness and adoration. "Anything for you." We spent the rest of the morning chatting about school, friends and riding. I got up at after a while to check on the horses. As I was walking towards them I felt Jack's arms wrap around my waist and pick me up, I knew exactly what he was doing. "JACK!! Put me down!" I felt him walk into the water, it was up to his waist already. As the water hit my feet and he knew it was deep enough he threw me in. "AHH! That was cold Jack Tony Venter, very very cold." The water was cool but not too cold. He laughed and it was so contagious I started laughing too. "What you going to do about it Jessica Rosalie ward?" "Oh I don't know maybe this." I said while splashing him with water. "Oh it's on." We had an all out splash war before I stopped and walked to the shore. I pulled my soaking wet outer clothes off leaving me in my bikini and hung them up on a tree to dry. After I hung up my clothes Jack came up behind me and hung up his shirt next to my clothes and wrapped his arms around me and picked me up. He walked into the water and we started swimming around. We played around in the pond for quite a bit. Jack ended up dunking me under and I decided to play a prank on him. I was a good swimmer so I swam down under his slightly kicking feet and pulled him under too. He grabbed me before I could swim away and pulled me closer to him. He leaned in and I closed my eyes. I think you can guess what happened next that's right he bit me. Just kidding it was the most magical kiss ever and it just so happened to be my first. We both pulled away and swam up for air. "That was amazing." Jack said to me. We realized it was starting to get quite warm and we brought the horses into the water and Janna kept bumping Jack and Polo away from us. "Well someone is a little bit jealous." I said while patting her neck. Jack laughed and so did I. We swam for a few more minutes before getting out and Jack produced a towel from the bottom of the picnic basket. We dried off before dressing and packing up. As we rode back to the stables Jack said "I had an amazing time today Jessica. Thank you for going on a date with me." "Please the pleasure is all mine." We continued to talk about my rigorous training program. After we got back and put the horses away for the night Jack offered to drive me home which I gladly accepted as it was starting to get chilly as the sun set, which I only noticed now. We must have been out on the trail for longer than I thought. After he walked me to my door he kissed me and said goodnight and reminded me that I had training in the morning. I laughed "Don't remind me." He gave me another kiss on the cheek and said "See you bright and early, mon amour." I giggled like a school girl and went inside. Quickly I pulled out my phone and dialed Jules' number. "You lying bitch who I love to bits." I greeted her when she answered. I moved into my room and closed the door so we would have some privacy. "I'm guessing it went well and he told you I helped." She said. "Well he didn't exactly tell me that you helped but you are the only one who knows my dream date." "Makes sense." I laughed. "I'm heading to bed I'm exhausted and we have training tomorrow at 6." I heard a long groan on the other end of the phone. "Don't remind me" I see why we're best friends now, "Can't we skip?" "I'd love to but we have the show soon and then I wouldn't get to see my amazing boyfriend. Isn't Ryan coming to watch you anyway?" "Oh yes he is. I forgot. Well then I best get to bed too." We both said goodnight.

Oh my word sorry for the long wait school's been hectic then I went away without my laptop. Anyway hoped you liked it I had a bit of writer's block so if any of you have ideas please share them with me.
