"Louis! Don’t forget to ask for extra cheese!” Anastasia yelled to her boyfriend as he ordered them pizza.
“Yeah thanks,” Louis spoke into the phone before clicking the line dead. “You’ve really gotten demanding haven’t you?” he chuckled before taking his place on the couch beside her and clicking on the TV.
A giggle broke through her lips and her vivid green eyes sparkled happily in the beams of sun shining through threw the window. “You always taught me to make sure I get what I want,” she said laughing as she poked his cheek.
“I guess I did, didn’t I,” he still couldn’t get over it. She was interacting like a nothing had ever happened. To him this was a miracle, when he had first meant her she couldn’t do anything herself, and wanted to do everything for him. Now it was almost as if she were a whole new person, filled with confidence and happiness, when before she had been an empty shell of self-regret and skittishness. “Now come here and watch this show with me!”
“Yes master,” she said, her voice held a mimicking tone that she used often, laughing at her old self.
They sat watching television together. It was Anastasia’s favorite part of the day; well it was more like it was the best part of her week if she was lucky. She loved Louis more than anything, but his work schedule did make seeing each other complicated. For the most part she would come with him and the boys when touring, but there were many times that she was left at home waiting for Louis to get back.
Knock Knock
“It’s probably the pizza. I’ll be right back, kay?”
Anastasia voiced a quiet mhm her attention completely focused on the television.
Louis pushed himself off the couch with a grunt and rushed to the door. The grumbling in his stomach had been pretty consistent for the last few hours, much to Anastasia’s amusement.
“Lou! How’ve you been?” Niall said patting Louis on the back as he sauntered into the large white house.
“Niall, what are you doing here? Did you happen to see a pizza guy when you arrived?”
“The boys and I decided that we would pay you a visit! We haven’t had a boys night out in a while, well a boys night out plus Anastasia, oh and Liam brought Sophia since she was in town,” Niall said plopping down on the couch next to Anastasia wrapping his arm around her.
“Well aren’t you always the flirt,” Anastasia said rolling her eyes at Niall before shrugging of his arm.
“You know me and my Irish charm,” he laughed giving her a friendly wink.
“You better not be using your ‘Irish charm’ on Louis’ girlfriend, or you’ll end up with that arm broken,” Harry said shooting Niall a look, “You know how protective his is over her.”
“Where’s Zayn?” Anastasia asked looking up suddenly.
“He didn’t think that it was the right time to come over,” said Niall his voice dropping a few levels and his expression turning serious.
Anastasia nodded slowly, swallowing down her emotions. Two years had passed, but she and Zayn still have a stressed relationship.
Louis and Zayn’s relationship had almost returned to normal; they never really brought up the incidents that occurred two years ago, but neither him, nor Anastasia would ever forget.
“But everyone else made it, so that’s something to smile about!” Liam said trying to defuse the tension that had formed in the room. The rest of the boys had gotten pretty good at changing the subject. This wasn’t the first time that the mention of the raven-haired boy had created an unquiet air.
A sharp ring of the doorbell broke the silence that the group had fallen into.
“Finally!” Louis practically yelled with relief.
After paying the pizza guy he grabbed two plates and brought one to Anastasia, who’s stomach was no far from quiet.
“Sorry guys, if I had known you were coming I would have ordered more,” Louis said his shrugging. He knew it really wasn’t an issue. None of his friends were that picky. That’s what happens when you spend endless amounts of time with each other, you can’t help but grow close. Through the years he and the others had grown from strangers to friends to brothers.
“It’s fine Louis, I already ordered four more pizzas,” Niall stated grinning from ear to ear, “I’m a growing boy. I need to eat!”
“Yeah and we’ll be lucky if there’s pizza left for us when he’s done,” Liam chuckled to himself.
“I heard that!” Niall snapped a smirk plastered on to the golden-haired boy.
As the night went on Anastasia found herself growing more and more comfortable. She sometimes found it unsettling being around the boys. The green-eyed girl could still remember back to two years ago. How quickly Louis had been to side with Zayn than to believe her. She felt that, even though they treated her with respect, they would still remain loyal to Zayn. Anastasia and he had officially made up, but it’s hard to forget the atrocious acts that the brown-eyed boy had put her through, done to her. She was always stiff when the other boys came around, although she was slowly becoming warmer to them and their crazy antics.
“We need to do thish again sometime soon,” Niall slurred as he walked out the door. His mind was buzzing from the affects of alcohol.
“We’ll get him home safely,” Liam said hugging Louis before leaving with Sophia, her hand tightly entwined with his own.
“Louis, Niall’s right we do have to make sure to do this again,” Harry said his eyes a crinkled with delight, “I miss hanging out like we used to.”
“We’ll be sure to do it again soon,” Louis said patting him on the back, “Now get going,” a chuckle reigniting from his chest.
After closing the door behind his curly-headed friend Louis nearly dropped to the couch wrapping his arms tightly around Anastasia.
“I love them, but I feel like we’ve spent no time together tonight,” he said planting a loud kiss onto her forehead.
“Yeah, so shut up and watch some TV with me,” she said ruffling Louis feather like hair and snuggling into his chest.
“Whatever you say Stasia. You’re wish is my command.”
He couldn’t help but steal looks at her, even when the fastest car chases were happening, or the biggest explosions occurring. She was his everything, and now life was normal, which made it so much better than normal. Anastasia meant the world to him, and now they had finally reach a point where they could just sit and let life go by without worrying. Life was perfect, and he wasn’t letting her go for anything or for anyone.
Stick with it, the second chapter starts to get better, I just had to build up to action to make it actually feel like a story and not an action fest.
