“What about your sister and brother?”
I readjusted myself “My sister went to college a few months ago, we haven’t talked in a while. And as for my brother, I see him in the morning, in the halls, and passing me in his car with his friends, while I’m walking home. We live in the same house, yet only make eye contact 3 times a day.”
“Would you like me or your father to talk to them?”
I shook my head “There’s no need. I’ve gotten use to it.”
“And what about tomorrow?”
I looked out the window as I shook my head again “What about tomorrow? It’s just another day”
“Kendra”
“What?”
“It’s not just another day Kendra”
…
“Kendra”
“What?”
She squinted her eyes “I said, are you ok?”
“You don’t hear her?” I kept looking around
“Who Kendra?”
I packed my things in my “Uh, nothing” I got up from my seat “I’ll see you next week”
“Ken-“ I cut her off by shutting the door
“Are you alright Kendra” My dad asked standing
I nodded “Yea, I’m just tired”
