Jimmy Page's POV

So, I'm sitting in my physics class, right next to Brian May. I prefer to be quiet in class rather then call a lot of attention to myself. Brian, on the other hand, has no problem calling attention to the both of us.

"What, then, is the speed of-," the teacher asks, only to be interrupted by:

"34 kilometers per hour, sir!" Brian, of course. I like Brian all right, but it does bug me how I can't be concealed around him. He's just so outgoing, and I'm really just not. I'd rather sink into the background and be mysterious, but at the same time cool and confident. Oh well, only a few more minutes of class left.

Finally we hear: "It's time for afternoon announcements from yours truly, Roger Waters!" He's always so in your face about everything. It's a little annoying. "First, the decorating committee will be meeting after school today to put up decorations for the dance. Speaking of the dance, that will be this Friday," oh shit, the dance is in only two days! I still haven't asked for a date! "Theater will be meeting after school tomorrow, and the book club will be meeting today. That's all from your favorite school president, Roger Waters!" After that, we hear Principal Presley chewing out Roger, and several students can't help but laugh.

It occurs to me, I'm on the decorating committee! Well, at least I left all of the decorations I'm responsible for in my car. I sit there, biting my pencil, waiting for the bell to ring. I just sit there, and it feels like it will never come.

Finally:

Raannnng!

Yeah, we have a janky old bell. It sounds awful. I run out of class, clutching my book, notebook, and pencils, and run for my locker. I throw the stuff in my locker, and I think how good it is that I don't have any homework. Ugh, that would make this evening unbearable. Anyways, I run to my car, and get the box with all the decorations. Fortunately, all of the stuff is put together, so we just will need to put it all up. Sounds easy enough.

I arrive in the auditorium, and Tom is already on a ladder putting up streamers and crap. What was I saying about this being easy? I set down the box, and Stevie comes right over to me.

"Hey, Jimmy!" she says really pleasantly. Stevie's smile could take the darkness out of anyone's soul, and I guess that includes mine.

"Hey, Stevie!" I say really pleasantly too. As I said, she is so sweet to everyone. Stevie's friends Joni and Joan are working on putting up some decorations in the corner, so I guess I should just get to work. "Where do you want these, Stevie?" I ask, pointing to my box.

"Anywhere that seems reasonable, Jimmy, " She says coolly. She just walks away, assuming I know just what to do. Oddly enough, I actually feel like I know what to do....

I grab some of the decorations, and start heading over to a corner where David Bowie and Brian Eno are busy at work. I guess everyone recruited their best friends. To bad my best friends are all too fabulous and popular for that stuff.

Anyways, I get to my work, slowly and methodically putting up the decorations. As I make my rounds around the auditorium, it truly begins to look like a work of art I can be proud of.

When the box was empty, I suppose I had to call the end of it there. That was that, my art was finished. David and Eno were definitely going to fuck it up, but I guess I had to willing to let that happen.

I waved goodbye to Stevie, and started out the door, and then a brilliant idea hit me. I ran back into the room, and found Stevie in there again, "Stevie?" I call.

"Yeah, Jimmy? I thought you were going-," she says, quite confused.

"Stevie, would you be my date to the dance?" I ask. Crap, this is too much....

"Of course Jimmy!" she says with a smile. I smile like an idiot and run back out of the room. Finally, I'm ready for the dance.
