Chapter 3:
************
Logan and I arrived at the airport, and my eyes kept searching for Esther. I took out my phone as Logan started to talk to the lady about our flight. I texted Mili: Hey, where are you?? We arrived at the airport already.
About 2 minutes later I received a text from her: Hey, it's Esther (: Mili forgot her phone with me. And we've arrived. We're in this store in the airport called Enchants Cafe :) hope to see you there 🙈😊
"We still have plenty of time before the flight," Logan said.
I was too busy smiling at my phone to even pay attention because-
"Esther texted you?"
"Yeah...I mean no!" I quickly slid my phone into my pocket.
"You're smiling,"
"And?" I shook my head waiting for a response.
"Whatever," Logan shrugged.
"Um..Logan, I think I could help myself with some coffee. How about you?"
"Let's go see Esther.." He replied as he pushed my shoulder to make a move.
"What?"
"I know she's there," he smirked, "I'm not stupid, you dumbass,"
"You bastard. You saw the text," I laughed.
"Okay. First of all man, you don't even like coffee and the only reason you would go there would be probably because Esther's there. Duh...Logic, you faggot." He slapped my arm.
"You really do have a brain. I'm impressed."
"Fuck you. Now let's go."
------------
We arrived at the door of Enchants Cafe and I took a deep breath. I placed a breath strip on the top of my tongue. I was nervous. After all these years, I'm meeting someone I once admired so much but had failed to show.
"It's gonna be alright, man. Just act natural."
"What's gotten into you?"
"Just being a good friend," he smirked and walked past me and had already made his way to the counter to order coffee.
Or he probably saw a cute girl. I shook my head at the sight of him conversing with a girl, black leather jacket, reddish-brown hair, sitting next to him. He looked at me and winked.
I stepped inside and looked around at all the tables crowding the place. There weren't that many people and there was still time for the flight to board.
I then sighted a view my eyes have been dying to see in so many years. I stood far away and I was still hypnotized by the beauty.
Esther.
Her smile still lit up as she spoke. She still wore glasses but they were different from middle school. It was now black, not purple. She was still young and beautiful.
A tear slid down from my eyes and I quickly smiled and wiped it away. I wanted her, but I wasn't sure she wanted me...
I wanted to wake up next to her and admire her beauty. I wanted to tell her I loved her and make memories with her. I wanted to be there for her when she needed me the most.
I called this love.
But is it enough for her?
