"Kai Kai!!" I yelled ponding on the oak colored door of my best friend's house. "Open the door you lazy sloth! Let's go play!!"

A soft running noise escaped from within the house and a few seconds later the door was pushed open. A person stepped out, but as always, it wasn't Xiao Kai, it was his mother. She smiled at me "Xiao Kai! Ellie's here." she yelled into the house "Come on in Ellie"

"Thank you Auntie." I smiled at the black haired lady in front of me and walked into the familiar house. The living room was a plain and simple white with a red wood floor. In the center of the room was the marble table and around it the cozy sofas that I would always fall asleep on whenever I stayed for the night. The building, located in the heart of ChongQing overlooked the heart of the city. "Did you want anything to eat Ellie?" She asked as she closed the door.

"That's alright, I was just here to get K-" I tried explaining but was suddenly cut off by the so called devil.

"Why are you here.." Kai Kai asked, more like yarned as he walked into the room half asleep and messy as ever.

"Why wouldn't I be" I answered without a second thought "I think the more important question is.. Why does it look like you just woke up, its like 1 in the afternoon."

"Um.."

"Never mind. Don't answer that." I smiled knowing how big of a sleeper he was "Come on let's go!"

"Go where?" He asked puzzled.

"You forgot didn't you." It was a statement. Not a question. I knew him too well to not know the answer of that 'question'.

"No of course not.. But just to make sure we're talking about the same thing, what was it again?" He scratched the back of his head and gave me the awkwardest smile, he always does this when he forgets something.

"Right." I shot him a judgy stare. "You totally remembered our camping trip..."

"Yea of course!" He joins in "camping haha how could I forget"

"You have five minuets."

Kai left the living room and ran into the bathroom to do his 'morning' routine. I smiled to myself thinking it was kinda funny how messy he was.

We bid our goodbyes to auntie and ran downstairs to find my mother talking on the phone "Yea I know we'll be there by Monday just get it settled for now, okay bye." She hung up her phone and shoved it in her pocket when she saw the two of us walking towards the car.

"Ready to go?" She asked smiling at Xiao Kai and I.

"So ready!" I answered for the both of us.

It was 1:37 by the time we arrived at the beach. We haven't been here since the summer of last year. I smiled as all the happy memories of the two of us flooded back into my mind.

My mom was busy making the tents and setting up the BBQ grill while we dashed onto the golden beach and into the cold salty sea.

"You're so slow!" Came the laughter of Xiao Kai.

"Am not."

"You're so"

"Am not"

"You're so" I felt a splash of cold water hit me a step before I touched the crystal blue sea.
