Once over the wall we ran none of us looked back. We finally found a river I looked on map and the name of the river was duram (the water), what a creative name. We all rested we had been running for about two hours, at times we slowed down but never did we stop. So we where exhausted.
"Abby!" Yelled Jess
"Yeah?"
"There are only a couple hours before dark we should make camp". He said Jess is a tall and by tall I mean 6'7" a foot taller then me. He has amazing green eyes and long brown hair that almost reaches his shoulders.
"Earth to Abby."
"Oh sorry; you are right, round every one up."When everyone was together I told them that the needed to set up their tents and that some people needed to get fire wood. Jess said he would look for fire wood, and Alex said he would get the food, he is the only one of us who has hunted before at least that is what everyone else thinks.
"Ok so everyone else finish setting up tents and rest". I said then I turned to Jess and Alex," be careful there are people who live out here in the woods".
Jess looked confused and asked how could I know that. I just smiled and told him that it is what I heard from the guards. I hugged both the boys and told them to hurry and to be safe. They walked deeper into the woods I watched them as they disappeared behind the trees. I started walking around the camp the others had made. It was only me, Cat, Jason, and Raven.
Jason was showing Cat and Raven a magic trick and they where getting tired of him cause they were doing all the work setting up the tents, and getting the water so we could boil it to make it safe to drink. When they where by the river, they pushed Jason in. I started laughing and they all turned to look at me.
"Come one guys get back to work, and for goodness sakes Jason stop messing around." They then got back to work. I know they are just trying to have some fun but we need to think about surviving. I knew if we where to have any chance out here we needed to use our powers, but where would be the best place to practice? I went in to my tent and got my map out there was a field not far from here I decided that since Jason was with the two girls I was going to go to the field it was really close, so I told Cat that I would be back a little after sundown. While walking I started to think about all that has happened to lead me to this point; all the pain, knowing they thought of us only as weapons, what happened with Alex's brother.
Alex's POV
I was walking down this hill trying to follow these deer tracks when I saw the deer come out from behind this cave wall. I raised my gun... and bull's-eye. I took it back to camp by now there was maybe a hour of sun light left so I cut open the deer and hanged it up. When I finished I went to talk to Abby but she was nowhere to be found I asked Cat and she told me that Abby had taken her gun and went to go find something and would be back after sundown. I turned around and started getting a place to build the fire. Just when I had finished Jess walks up with a ton of wood he sat it next to the pit I just made.
"Hey, why don't you give us a light?" Jess asked
"Fine but if all our stuff ends up on fire I am blaming you."
"Fine by me."
Why does he have to be so ok with everything.I stepped back and tried to keep my mind on lighting a small little fire, I don't want to end up like my brother. I finally lit the fire and turned to slice up the deer when I was done with that I put it on sticks so everyone can cook their own. Before sitting down and eating I grabbed my bag a pulled out this big thing of salt I then salted the rest of the meat and put it in some bags I brought.
Back to Abby's POV
All these things turned out to have made me who I am. I was ripped from my thoughts when I saw a person right in front of me knife at his side and a bag on his back. I reached for my gun untill I saw this guys face...
