It was two months into the academic year, the month was July. It was Sams birthday. All the six of us had gone for his party. There were a lot of people there, a lot of them whom I didn't know. I was spending time with Anjali obviously because she was the only one there whom I was really close to rather the only person I knew. Shreya and Sam were together the whole while and Tasha and Vedanth were together.

The party was all good until Anjali got a call from home and she had to go. I was all alone after that until I saw another girl sitting at the corner of the room all by herself and she looked a bit sad. She had wavy dark brown hair and she was looking really pretty in the black dress that she was wearing. Now since I was all alone and she was too, I approached her.

"I don't understand why a pretty face like yours has a frown as intense as that." I said and smiled when she looked up at me.

She stared at me for a while and replied, "I don't think it is any of your concern. I die, I live, I frown or whatever."

I just asked her something and that was the answer I got. Is it not rude on her part? Okay, never mind Aarush, just as Anjali told you, you have the charm in you. Talk it out and try making her smile.

"Ummm. It is none of my concern. But, I must say that a smile might just look perfect on those perfect lips of yours." I said and waited for a reply.

"Okay mister. What is your name and why are you here?" She said while getting irritated.

"Oh! I almost forgot to introduce myself. Heyy! I am Aarush. I am a close friend of Sams from school. I was lonely in the party and I thought you were too. So I came over to you. And you are?"

"I am Riya, Riya Ahuja. I am one of the girls in the same school. I have never seen you around in school though. I was here with my friends. But they are all busy and as you can see I am here all alone." She said and took a sip of the black colour liquid in the glass.

"I guess we have a similar story then Riya, my friends are busy as well. So why not you and me.. I mean talk and get to know each other? If you don't want to, I don't mind going away." I said and gave one of my smiles that Anjali likes a lot.

"Umm! Okay, not a bad idea. So where are you from? Why did you join this school?" She asked me and fiddled with her fingers. Damn, she was beautiful. She had brown coloured eyes as well. Her lips were red with the red velvet lipstick that she had put on. Believe me; I cannot believe that a girl as beautiful as her belongs to this school. I have been taken aback.

"I am actually here because dads' office shifted to this part of town and this was the only school the closest to home and dad put me here. I am a Delhite by blood. But dad was transferred to Bangalore five years after I came into the world. Tell me about you?" I asked barely able to make eye contact with her. I was getting nervous as each word came out of my mouth.

She was from Delhi as well and she has been in this school from the very beginning. We spoke for some time and I made her laugh a bit. I was enjoying her company a lot. I wanted to get out of this noisy place and go somewhere else where it was not so noisy.

"So Riya I was thinking why not we get out of this place and go sit somewhere else and talk?" I asked her in a rather nervous tone.

She looked at me like I was crazy and then thought for a while. Then she got up, held my hand and pulled me and said, "Let us go. I know this park nearby which will be open until 10."

We made our way out of the party and it was chill for a July evening in Bangalore. I was wearing a shirt on top of a T-shirt and Riya was just wearing a sleeveless dress. She held my hand and we were walking the streets. I could see that she was feeling cold and I wanted to offer her my shirt. But I was even enjoying this moment. It just felt so perfect.
