You'll get why soon enough.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I'm home?" Layla gasped. Layla was so relieved but at the same time sad that she didn't get to say goodbye to his favourite game character. She couldn't contain her excitement that she just screamed, "I'M HOME!!!!!". She forgot that she was back at home. Then she heard footsteps just loud enough for Layla's small ears to hear. It grew louder and louder then someone came in her room, it was her mother. She looked like she wasn't aloud to talk. She was as silent as a mouse. Layla looked worried and scared at the same time for her mum. "Mum, are you alright?" Layla asked with a quiver in her voice. Her mum didn't say anything but she did walk up closer to Layla still so silent. Then she was around her bed, with no emotions at all. Then she said, "Wake up, Layla!" The weird thing that scared Layla the most was that her mum's voice was exactly identical as Luke's voice. Layla screamed.
"AHHHHHHH!!!!!" When Layla opened her eyes she was back at London in her bedroom she slept in. The professor was surprised that he nearly dropped his cup of tea.
"Please don't scream!" Luke tried to calm Layla down again. "Did I scare you? If I did I'm sorry." Luke looked down.
"Oh no that's alright. I-I-umm-I just... I just had a bad dream, that's all." Layla woke up with cold sweat. Hershel walked in the room. "Are you alright, Layla?" Hershel asked.
"Yes I, just had a bad dream." Layla answered. Hershel nodded and went back to sitting down enjoying the last of his tea.
"Get ready, Layla. We don't want to be late for the book."
"Book?" Layla thought with a half confused expression, slightly panting which was caused by the horrible dream she just had. She then understood what Hershel meant in just a few seconds, remembering what happened yesterday.
The sun was rising from the horizon when Layla woke up. So now, they were walking to the library again. It was a cold weather, but not too cold. It was a chilly morning, turning warmer into the day.
They arrived at the library trying not to get their hopes to high, and went straight to the desk.
"Hello, how may I help you?" The librarian asked. This librarian was different to the one they were talking to yesterday.
"Yes, we were here yesterday day, speaking with another librarian."
"What was the lady's name?" The librarian asked. Hershel remembered what the librarian's name tag said, but it was a bit blurry: RACHEL, LIBRARIAN.
"Her name was Rachel." Hershel said hoping he was right.
"Oh Rachel, let me call her, please wait here." The librarian was definitely better than the one they met yesterday, in Layla's opinion. This librarian had a more jolly behaviour, and a true one too, you can tell by the way her face looks. Layla smiled back.
Rachel then came out in just about a minute. She responded to our faces sourly, then she put on another fake smile.
"Oh hello. You're here for the book?" Rachel asked.
"Yes. Please tell us it's here." Layla blurted out.
"Um. The book is here, but I'm not sure if it's still there, it's at the back part of the library down near--" As soon as Layla heard those words she dashed as quick as she could to the section it was in. "Please don't run dear!" Rachel tried not to scream but it was pretty loud for a voice you would use in the library. Layla didn't care what the librarian said. She ran as fast as she could, a small tear was running down her cheek.
She was skimming so fast but she tried to be as accurate as she could. She looked like she was losing hope, more tears started to run down her pale, white cheeks. Hershel and Luke caught up to her at the back of the library. They were all trying to look for the book this time. While Luke was walking from shelf to shelf, he saw a table with the book they were trying to look for. It was there lying on the brown, wood table. Luke then didn't hesitate and ran for the book. When he put his hand on the book, another person put a hand on it, though Luke's hand was on top of the other person's. It was a girl, about the same age as Luke.
"Hey," The girl gasped.
"Please I really need this book, I can't explain right now." Luke looked desperate. The girl wasn't convinced and thought that he was just exaggerating.
"But I got this book first!" She tried getting the book out of Luke's grasp.
"Please I really need it, my friend needs it!" Luke persisted to get the book. Hershel and Layla overheard Luke's voice and the girl's voice both complaining. Hershel dashed quickly, but gently, to where Luke was.
"Luke!" Hershel tried to get Luke's attention, which didn't seem to work. Hershel then tried to stop the argument between the two by separating them both from each other. "Please Luke. A gentleman must not be selfish, especially to a lady. Luke suddenly stopped after Hershel said those words. The girl then finally got hold of the book.
Hershel tried to explain why they really need the book. The girl then found out that they really did need it and she gave it to them.
"Wow so your from a place called Audea Hill? And it's far away is it?" The girl asked.
"Yes. It's very frightening not to be where I live, I've never stayed with someone else before, but it's alright because I've got the professor and Luke with me." Layla smiled.
"Can I join you? With your investigation? It seems really interesting." The girl really wanted to join to investigate with them.
"Of course, but what about your mum and dad? They need to know that you're going with us." Hershel was more than happy to have one more person, but her parents would be furious if they don't know where their child is.
"Oh don't worry, I'll ask my dad. He's a very kind man." The girl smiled and so did her eyes. The girl had a very bright personality.
"What was your name by the way, young lady?" Hershel asked.
"Ellise. My name is Ellise Calder." She said. She smiled at Luke because Luke was looking at her. Luke smiled back.
