Ellise got to ask her father and she was right about her father, he was a kind loving man. Ellise's dad had mocha, brown mustache, he had a white coat on. Ellise's family looked very rich from Layla's perspective.
"Hershel?" Ellise's dad asked.
"Why if it isn't Jacob." Hershel said smiling when he saw his face.
"How has it been? It's been so long since we've seen each other!" Jacob was in such a bright personality, just like Ellise. It was pretty obvious that she got her personality from her father. Layla and Luke exchanged looks and shrugged their shoulders, while Ellise was still standing next to her father, smiling like she had nothing to worry about and her world was only about happiness. After a while Jacob decided that, of course, Ellise was able to sleepover with Herhsel for a few days.
"Take care of my, Ellise for me, for a few days." Jacob smiled.
"With pleasure." Hershel answered nodding.
So they went and left. Ellise was going home first to get all her things from her house. She was being dropped off at Hershel's apartment.
"Ding dong!" The doorbell rang and they were all tired, so Hershel stood up from his sleep and walked up to the door. When he opened it, he saw Ellise and Jacob standing, smiling. Ellise was excited and Jacob looked happy that her daughter was joining his great friend.
"Hello, Jacob." Hershel smiled.
"Good evening, Hershel." Jacob answered. "Ellise has all her stuff and she will be with you for 5 days maximum. Is that alright?"
"Of course. That shall be more than enough."
"Have a great time sweetie." Ellise gave his dad a kiss and a hug and Jacob left.
"Hi, Ellise. You're going to be sleeping with Layla in her room. Both of you are not that tall, so I am sure that you will be able to fit if we oriented the bed horizontally." Hershel smiled.
"That's great! Thank you." Ellise said.
Layla overheard what Hershel had said. She was a bit in shock, but she was alright with it. She kind of expected that. Where else would Ellise sleep?
They all got ready for bed, including Hershel. But he was going to stay up a bit later than the children to skim and read the book that they borrowed at the library, and to wait until they were all asleep.
Layla and Ellise were lying down on the bed with a pillow in between them. It was a bit awkward for Layla because she had never met this girl before, nor has she ever heard her from a Professor Layton DS game. She was to shy to make a first move so, Ellise did it instead and she said,
"How do you know the professor?" Layla didn't know what to say, how to respond. She tried to think of something quickly before Ellise felt like she was being ignored.
"Uh, from where I'm from, he is pretty well known." Was all Layla could make up from in such a short time.
"Wow, he really is a great professor." Ellise said to herself.
"Yeah he is." Layla agreed. She took a big sigh and closed her eyes, and just like that she was asleep.
When Layla woke up she opened her eyes and rubbed them. She felt like she wanted to get away from all the bright light. She needed to get used to the brightness. Other than that, she smelt something beautiful. Tasty was a better word to describe the smell. Layla heard faint talking behind the white, plain door. It was all three of them. Hershel, Luke and Ellise. "They're all awake?" She thought. The door was a bit too thick for Layla to make out what they were talking about, but Layla could hear a little bit of what they were saying.
"...Layla come from?" Layla could hear Ellise. After a minute or so she heard Hershel.
"...cave...Flora Hill." Layla didn't have the best hearing in the world. She wanted to get up and know what they were talking about. So what Layla did was she coughed loud enough for them to hear, with the door closed. The chatting abruptly stopped. Layla got out of her very comfortable bed, nearly regretting it, and opened her bedroom door.
"Good morning, Layla!" Ellise was her usual self as always.
"Have some breakfast. We're going to start our investigation today!" Hershel invited her.
"Thank you." Layla replied. She sat down at the mahogany table. There was toast, butter, egg, and bacon on the table. Layla smiled at all the food she saw.
After breakfast, they all got ready to start on their investigation. Hershel had found out that, according to the myth, the Book of Destiny was located at the Dark Stone Cave. It hasn't been touched ever since. The last person to touch or use it was its creator. His name was Christian. He's been dead for years.
They set out in their journey to Flora Hill, where Dark Stone Cave is located.

SNEAK PEEK ON THE NEXT CHAPTER.
"Luke did you bring the book?" Hershel asked.
"Yes Professor. It's here with me." Luke replied.
They were driving inside Hershel's red Layton mobile. Layla was staring outside her window. Looking at the view as it passes by. She was also thinking about if she does ever get back to her life in Audea Hill. She was so peaceful and calm. Then Hershel slowed the speed of the Layton mobile down and parked on the side of the road.
"Why did we stop Professor?" Luke asked worried.
There was a person standing in front of the Layton mobile. Hershel couldn't see who it was behind all the grew, misty fog. "It's-- it's--- it's--."
