Struggles

Joshua's P.O.V

I woke up to the loud ringing of my alarm. I woke up early so that I can avoid my dad in the morning.

School is nowhere near close to what I deal with at home but it definitely comes in second place. There are many reasons why I hate school. I'm constantly bullied by the school asshole and jock, Dexter Matthews and his dumb ass friends. Dexter also has a girlfriend who is head cheerleader. Her name is Nicole Shelton. She's a total bitch just like the rest of her cheer squad.

They make it their mission to make my life a living hell. Instead of reminiscing about my bullies, I got up and took a nice, hot shower.

Once I got out of the shower I threw on my Asking Alexandria shirt and some dark denim jeans with black converse. I grabbed my backpack and walked to the kitchen to grab an apple. I bit into it as I walked out the door and made my way toward school. Being that I don't have a car, I have to walk to school every day.

Once I made it to the school parking lot, I started to slow my stride. The palms of my hands started to become clammy. I'm growing more anxious by the minute as I approach the school doors. I took a deep breath and walked through the doors.

I kept my head down as I quickly made my way to my locker. I put in my locker combination and started grabbing books for class.

"Well well well, if it isn't bitch boy," a voice said.

I knew that voice all too well. It was Dexter Matthews, football superstar and every girl's dream. I ignored him and kept putting things in my backpack.

He knocked my bag out of my hands and slammed my locker so hard, I could feel the vibration coming from them. All the students in the hallway began to cast their gaze on us.

"Are you deaf bitch boy?! Huh," he yelled in my face.

I flinched and tried to turn away. He grabbed me by the back of my shirt and yanked me toward him.

"Where the fuck do you think you're going?"

I desperately looked around to see if anyone would help me. I knew they wouldn't. No one ever helps, they just stand around and watch like they are now.

"Awww can the little pussy not talk? Can you talk or are you just a useless little retard," he asked.

"I'm not a retard," I whispered.

"I think you are a retard bitch boy. The whole school does," he hissed.

"Please let me go Dexter," I asked as I looked down.

"I don't think so Joshy boy."

I an instant I felt Dexter's fist connect with my face with a loud smack. You could hear the sound echo through the hallway. I fell to the ground due to the impact. I lay dazed on the floor, quickly trying to rekindle myself.

Before I could regain my sense, I felt Dexter give me a hard kick to the ribs. I heard a slight crack after the impact.

He yanked me up from the floor and began assault on my face. Blow after blow I began to feel numb. I looked around gazed into the eyes of each student. Some looked horrified and some just didn't care.

Dexter punched me one last time before he let me fall to the floor. I groaned from the sudden pain that shot through my body.

"That should teach you a lesson you fucking bastard! DON'T YOU EVER HAVE MY NAME COME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH. MY NAME IS TOO GOOD TO BE IN YOUR MOUTH," he screamed.

I ignored him and he finally walked away. I began to feel blood seeping through my injuries and making their way down my face.

I slowly got up and walked to the bathroom to clean up my face. I pulled cotton balls and rubbing alcohol out of my backpack. I flinched every time the alcohol soaked cotton ball made contact with each cut.

A silent sob escaped my lips. If mom were here none of this would be happening. She and dad both promised to protect me from the harm of the world.

I'm no longer protected. I'm vulnerable and weak. Mom isn't here and dad could give two shits whether I'm alive or not.

I quickly wiped my tears from my face and took a slow, deep breath.

Once my face looked decent enough, I started walking to U.S. History, my first period class.

This was a somewhat dramatic chapter. Vote up if you enjoyed.
