And here we stumble across a girl, no more than 17. Some people called her Violet, because she had hair that looked like it was kissed by a field of dancing lavender. Others called her Rain, because once the pitter patter of the droplets reached her ears, she was outside dancing to a song it seemed to create for her. Eventually, Violet Rain stuck, and she fell absolutely in love with it.

She seemed to have this sweet aura to her that lured everyone in.  She danced through the marketplace and hummed tunes only she knew, a smile always on her face and a twinkle in her eyes, but it wasn't true. She ached for someone to love her just as she loved dancing in the rain and making other people smile, but in her mind it would never happen.

His name was Skye, because some say his head was so up in the clouds, his hair became part of it, thus resulting in a head full of messy  baby blue wisps.  He would lay in the grass in front of Violet's house and look up at the passing clouds, thinking about all the possibilities beyond, and she would watch as he did this through her bedroom window mesmerized by the blue haired boy who didn't know her name.

A piece of her heart would break off and shatter every time she did this because she knew that he'd never be happy with her, she'd just end up destroying him.

Months went by as this continued, the tension building up until she had enough of it. So she stormed out of  the house and laid next to him, both of them laying there in silence.

"I like the color Violet."

She heard him whisper as she smiled at him.

From that day, they watched the clouds pass by and they even danced in the rain together. Her fear of destroying him completely gone, because they were both dreamers and destroyers and they knew it.

A few years passed, she was 20 and he was 19. Violet long since grown out of her flower crowns, replaced with hand picked daisies Skye would bring her, and Skye, still up with the clouds and completely in love with Violet.

As they were laying in the grass one afternoon, a slight sprinkle started to emerge from the clouds, and instead of going inside, Skye stood up and grabbed Violette by the hand, pulling her up towards him as they started to dance.

And without them realizing it, the dark sky above them started to lighten into a beautiful Violet sky, scattered with flashes of lightening.

And her thoughts started to ease, because here she was, dancing with a boy who was like her in every way possible. In that moment, everything was perfect as she looked up at the violet sky and smiled.
