The bell rings. I put all my books into a red folder and I hand it in. I grab my bag and walk out of the class. KJ is right behind me. He's always so happy and when you see him you just light up. That's the effect he has on some people. With other people that is not the case. I turn my head to look at him since he got distracted by a screw on the floor. I'm too busy watching KJ that I don't see the person I bump into. It's Jason.
"Hi, again," I say, a hint of laughter in my voice.
"Hi," he grunts. He looks straight ahead of him, almost ignoring me. Maybe I shouldn't carry on talking to him. I mean, just because he showed me to one of my classes once doesn't mean we're automatically friends, right? Jason turns to me and says,"Sorry. I was just waiting for this douchebag Keegan to get out of our way. He is a huge gossipmonger." He rolled his eyes as he spoke.
"Yeah, I know what you mean." I said. We walk on, and I introduce him to KJ. We all start laughing at KJ and his antics and I don't realise we've gone down the wrong passage to get to my class. I say bye to Jason and I have to practically pull KJ after me to class. We start running down the passage. We reach the Mathematics class and sit down next to Stephanie, my friend.
"Why're you so late? First Tech, now Maths. And who's that guy you were talking to? You know that he's in grade 10, right? And also I..." she rambles on. I pretend that I'm listening, but I'm not. I'm too busy thinking about the new friend I've made. Though, is he my friend or not? Whatever he is, he's much nicer than anyone I've met (apart from KJ, but he doesn't count.).
