A few weeks later, I see Jason again. He's talking to my brother who's sitting on the concrete bench after school. I just finished public speaking with Savannah, my best friend. We talk about the debate that took place between Tamara and Christian. It was an interesting debate about school fees.
"Hi, Eliott," I say to my brother. "Hello, Jason."
"I never knew that you know Jason!" Savannah exclaimed.
"I didn't know you knew Savannah," Jason replied. I roll my eyes and laugh.
"He showed me where one of my classes are," I explain to Savannah and Eliott.
"Play her the song!" Savannah shouts.
"Which one?" asks Jason, really confused.
"SPACE UNICORNS!!!" Savannah shouts, and the whole school can hear her. My brother cringes and leaves after exclaiming that he doesn't know us. Savannah and I proceed in a shouting match, drawing even more attention to us. We don't mind, and Jason clearly doesn't mind either.
"So, Space Unicorns?" I say, watching my brother, still embarrassed, running away from us.
"Yeah," Jason says, laughing. "It's quite weird, but I think you'll like it."
"THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!" I shout, startling one of the teachers walking by and sending Jarod and Savannah into peals of laughter. "Afternoon, ma'am," I say, making Jason laugh so hard he falls over. When Jason finally stops laughing he plays me the song.
It's so cute, and I can't stop thinking that someone that's so 'old' could like something so cute and innocent. He made us laugh so much my sides were hurting and I could barely breathe. I went home happy and content that day.
