Moving to a new town with my dad and starting a new school is kinda like moving to a whole new world. Especally since we didn't make it here till 2 weeks after school started. Lucky for me my best friend Marzia, who moved here just before the end of middle school last year. (seriously who does that??) She's defiantly changed alot over the summer. She's figured out makeup, dressea in brighter clothes that show off more and she has a lot more friends. She says that I'm still her best friend.. I really hope that's true
The two of us are currently standing by the door of our first class, showing off pictures from the summer. The only other class we have together is at the end of the day, luckily we have lunch together. She just finished showing me where my classes were while we catch up. I've noticed she has a similar appearance to many of the girls she stoped our conversations to talk to, a full face of makeup and showing as much skin as possible without breaking dress code.
The bell pulled the both of us out of our conversation. I slip my phone in my pocket as I we walk in the door along with the others and sat down next to each other. Most of the was pretty boring till linch
At lunch and I sat at a table with Marzia and a bunch of other girls. The lunchroom has a bunch of different size tables and big windows. There are a lot of kids and about half are getting lunch from home. I guess the foods not that great, I'm glad I have my dad's cooking. Marzia has been talking about some boy. The others where humoring her bit my gaze keeps drifting behind her. I look up as the other girls left to go wherever.
"We said we liked one another," Marzia said sounding so happy. "What do you think I should do?"
"I don't know." I said sounding bored and dropped my fork on my plate.
"Well are you at least happy for me?" Marzia asked and pouted.
I looked at her with a fake overly cheerful face and my head resting my fist.
"Yeah!" I said sounding somewhat sarcastic.
"Don't be jealous, I still love you." She said teasingly
She smirked and couldn't help but laugh a little.
"Love you too boo." I said making a kissy face.
He made a few goofy faces at each other and laughed. I couldn't help but the a cute boy sitting behind her chair my eye again.
"So. . you know a lot of people here right?" I asked.
"Yeah," Marzia replied "Why?"
I looked over and pointed at a boy sitting alone at an empty table.
"Who is he?" I asked.
Marzia looked over and when she saw him she froze. the look on her face quickly flipped from happy to scared.
"What's wrong?" I asked confused.
"Umm... w-why do you want to know?" She asks worry evident in her voice.
"Well.. he's sitting alone and I was going to ask him if he wanted to sit with us" I said starting to get up.
"No." Marzia said firmly pushing me back down in my seat.
"Why?" i asked a little really concerned by the way she was acting.
"That's...Dark." She said nervously.
"Oookay?" I asked confused.
Then she told me about a lot of bad things he supposedly had done, like beat someone until they were hospitalised. Some of ridiculousness she spewed made me wonder. Who would make up rumors like that about someone? Unless.. it's true? Am I actually believing this stuff?
The art teacher was standing near the front of the room everyone came in. He was bald and he had the biggest smile. he was wearing a white buttoned down shirt with his sleeves rolled up to his elbows and he was standing by a counter, written on the board next to him was 'Mr. Santoro Art 1'. He told everyone to sit with who we want to be our partner for projects, apparently mr santoro fell behind on the 'get to know me' period the first few week die to a due to a nastly flu. Marzia and I sat together and chatted. she must have heard something because her head snapped back and draw dropped slightly.
"Hey! there he is!" Marzia cheered excitedly
"Who?" I asked
"Felix! remember I was talking about him at lunch." Marzia said
she looked at me really excitement dripping from her paired with a very big smile.
"so go sit with him." I chuckled.
"but...but yo-?" Marzia was tries to ask eyes wide before i cut her off by covering her. "Mpurh."
"Just go!" I said nudging her shoulder.
she hugged me and squealed. walke-er skipped to the back table where he was sitting, this girl I swear. There two tables behind the one i was sitting at. I tried not to look back as the dread of working with a stranger eat at me. Suddenly someone plopped down next to me and flopped their books on the table heavily. I look over to see the guy from lunch, the one that was sitting alone. I remembered what Marzia had told me and I started getting a little scared. Ugh get ahold of yourself (y/n)!
"Hey.. I'm going to be your partner." He said his voice was deep and uncaring.
"Ok." I said trying to steady my voice and sound confident.
