6. A Moment

Several days have passed by slowly after I was attacked in the meadow. My father has been very... distant. My theory was that he blamed himself for what happened and he felt guilty. It's either that, or he's been kept busy by other things. That wasn't the only strange thing that's been happening, though.

First of all, I've started to feel... disconnected with my emotions. It was like my feelings ran out, or are delayed.

Second... patches of memory keep disappearing. Now, most people would just wave it off as being absentminded, but I've been losing random pieces of memory out of random. There was a moment when I forgot what my name was, and another time, I didn't recognize my own bedroom. To say the least, it got annoying.

Today, however... was a bit different than the other days.

It started off normal enough: Noise downstairs, the smell of bacon and coffee coming from the kitchen... It was the usual stuff. I shuffled downstairs, eyes half closed, and I could make out what people were saying.

"-has to clean this up!"

"What the hell?!"

"I bet it was Toby"

"No way! He's been in his room since yesterday!"

I frowned. What are they on about? I hopped off the last step, then walked into the kitchen.

"What is going on?" I asked. Everyone immediately stopped arguing and tensed. They must've heard the static.

"IT WASN'T ME!" They yelled simultaneously. They relaxed slightly when they realized it wasn't me.

I didn't react to their stupid antics, though. Oh, no. I was way too distracted by the kitchen.

There was paint everywhere. Different colours, different patterns, a few sparkles here and there, and the oh-so familiar pile of paintbrushes on the table.

Righty is back.

And she's back with a bang.

"How is that even possible?!" I squeaked.

Left and Righty were caused by not using  my powers, but I've been using my powers! Sure, I kinda missed them, but now was not a good time for them to come back.

"[Name]" said the all too familiar voice of... Dammit! I still don't know his name!

"Just calm down. This could have been a side affect of your medications. They do tend to make you drowsy." he continued.

I tensed and thought for a moment, contemplating the possibilities of that happening. Trusting the voice, I relaxed and breathed out.

"Right, right. Of course. It makes sense." I muttered. I looked up at the others, who were watching me as if they were waiting for orders.

"...uhm.. you guys said something about Toby..?" I asked.

"Hmm? Oh, yeah... He's locked himself in his room." Masky answered.

"Why di-"

"What is going on here?!" my father's voice boomed from behind me. I squeaked in surprise and fear, and jumped out of the way. Everyone was quiet, white-faced, and scared out of their minds.

"Who did this?" he demanded.

I swallowed hard and hesitantly raised a shaky hand.

"I think... it might've been me. Well, Righty." I croaked.

Slender stared at me for a long time. It felt like his featureless gaze was burning holes into my skin.

"Have you not been training?" he asked suddenly.
