A week passed, and I'd all bit forgotten about what had happened. Yoongi didn't bring it up, and we went on living like nothing had changed. We weren't bottling it up, we just knew that if we talked about it we would be sent right back where we started.
"Yoongi," I said, stretching my arms as we watched the stars that were above us, "Do you think... You know... That your parents are watching over you?"
He looked at me for a second, then back at the stars.
"I'd like to think so. That, even if they aren't here, they're protecting me. I sometimes wonder what my life would have been like if they were still around."
I nodded, staying quiet.
"But one thing is for sure. My life wouldn't be any better, whether I was in a house or not."
"Why?"
"Because I would have never met you. You, the one who's so strong. You, the one who offered me help when I needed it most. You, the one that have me the chance to live my life to the fullest."
I sat up, looking down at him. Tears brimming in my eyes, I watched him as he sat up next to me.
"Thank you, Y/N."
I hugged him, and he hugged me back. We were both crying, even if he was trying to hide it. I certainly wasn't attempting to hide it.
I pulled back slightly, looking into his dark eyes. They were slightly damp, showing how he felt.
I cupped his face, drying the tears that fell with my thumb. Smiling through the tears, I pressed my forehead against his, never listing eye contact. He stared at me, his eyes practically boring into my soul.
"Thank you, Yoongi. You've saved me from both other people and myself. My so called parents may be alive, but I don't need them. The only person I need in this world is you. Without you, I would still be cowering at home, waiting for the shouting to stop."
"Please, Yoongi, never leave me. I need you to be by my side."
"I'm not going anywhere without you." he replied.
Before I knew what was going on, a pair of soft lips were pressed against mine. His arms snaked around neck, and I watched as those dark eyes closed. My eyes closed off their own accord, and I returned the kiss.
Lips moving in sync, we kissed for what felt like years, but what was really only a few minutes.
When I finally looked at him, his cheeks were flushed slightly and his eyes were wide, looking at me innocently. I laughed at him, and he grinned, his arm around my waist.
I leant on his shoulder and we lay down, watching the stars together.
"Yoongi..."
"Yes?"
"I love you."
"I love you too, Dimples."
