"Are you alright dear?" Janice had true worry in her eyes. She was the first one up to comfort me from my nightmare. Raven is still looking around groggily, completely to oblivious to the situation. I nod to Janice and even though I am still quite shaken from my nightmare, I lie and say I'm alright.

"I don't want to seem rude or impatient, but would you be able to tell me about this Banshee stuff? It's really quite confusing seeing as though I don't know anything about them," I'm not looking forward to hearing this but I figure it's probably better to know about these things then to put them off until I really need it. Janice thinks about my question for a few seconds and then she nudges Raven to make her wake up completely.

"It's a long story so you better be comfortable,"  Janice says and she gets herself comfortable before clearing her throat.

"When humanity first thrived, among them were talented individuals who, over time, started to develop certain abilities and began to find each other no matter where they were located, today we call them 'Spirit Holders'. After a few thousand years, more individuals began to discover different talents and abilities, these people are now referred to as 'Witches' and 'Warlocks' and when the other talented species heard about these individuals, they saw them as a threat and vowed to rid the world of their 'darkness' and so then they started eliminating them. In order to do this, they formed something that started off as some friends and then it got more attention and turned into a  bigger group and then soon after, that group was then turned into a cult, larger than anything you may come across today. They called that cult the 'Light Givers' because from their perspective of things, they were cleansing the world of darkness to bring light. They had successfully killed all of the warlocks and  witches, or so they thought. The last witch they had killed had had a baby before she died, which kept the bloodline running, the baby grew with no knowledge of the abilities she possessed and eventually grew up and had children of her own. For many centuries, the Witches and Warlocks lived peacefully but as the years grew onwards, the abilities and talents began to unravel themselves and history nearly repeated itself, except this time, when the Spirit Holders found them, they fought more aggressively and they defended themselves for 200 years in a war only those with supernatural sight could see. Eventually, the Witches and Warlocks grew tired of battling and they created a spell that brought true darkness upon the world. What most people know as an epidemic, was really that spell. This spell, epidemic, whatever you wish to call it was supposed to only eliminate the Spirit Holders but instead, the spell was messed up and instead of it being controlled, it turned into a plague, with no way to stop it. Unfortunately, Witches and Warlocks died from the spell but the majority of the Spirit Holders until there were only six of them left. Each one fled to different places and ever since there has only been six at a time, when one dies, another takes its place. It is said that if one knew where all of the Spirit Holders were, the locations made what we call a Pentagram if you drew lines on a map of the world. In the middle is the place where every 100 years, they meet in private, no one knows what they do in those meetings. The end of the plague was caused by a powerful Warlock, who wished to remain anonymous, so only those in his bloodline know his name, but he was soon found and tortured to death by one of the Spirit Holders."

Janice stands up and she makes some tea for us all while Raven continues the story.

"The Banshee was made years after when a Warlock named Cyrus fell in love with a mortal named Amera. They fell in love and after years together, Amera lost feelings for Cyrus and left him. Cyrus was outraged and he developed a curse for Amera so she woud spend eternity alone, in life and death but when he performed it on Amera, he messed it up so the new curse was that she had to live with death, so she started experiencing voices in her head, a powerful scream, she could feel when someone died, which was nearly every second and she also formed psychic powers, and she also felt the emotions of people around her, which impacted her own. This is what we now call a Banshee, although through many years, Truth and Stories have been mixed up so now they are called many different things." Raven finished.
