I'm startled back to reality by someone shaking me, my eyes snapping open only to flutter back closed briefly when I see the face right in front of mine. Blonde hair, with black stripes through it, vibrant, electric blue eyes and features of an angel. The boy.

"Are you alright?" His voice sends shivers down every centimeter of skin on by body. It sounds sweet and sincere, like he actually cares. This thought makes me smile crookedly and he shakes me again.

"I'm- I'm- I'm alright. How is Rave- uh, the girl?" I stutter, from nerves more than anything. He shakes his head.

"I don't know, she's breathing and heart is beating but not very fast and getting slower by the second. I hope you know what to do," he explains, I nod as an answer and get to my feet and walk back to the ingredient slab of concrete. It takes a few minutes to make the syrup that Janice made, it doesn't look right but smells the same so I ask the boy to make her eat, well drink, the paste. We wait for a few minutes, awkward and silent until Raven's finger twitches and she takes a loud, shaky breath and gets up. Her eyes widen as her eyes meet the boy's face.

"It's alright. He isn't here to hurt us. I don't think." I explain to Raven, her eyes shrink back to their normal size and she grunts and 'okay'.

"Trust me. If I was here to hurt you guys, I would've done it by now." He gives us an icy look but it fades quickly, replaced by an uncomfortable, forced laugh. "I was kidding- I didn't mean to- I'm sorry- I'm- I'm not going to hurt you." He finally managed to say, avoiding my eyes for some reason. His face reminds me of a lost puppy and I burst into laughter. Raven and the boy give me a weird look and they erupt in the contagious laughter. We laugh crazily for a few minutes until we all suddenly stop, coming to a realisation that we are laughing with strangers.

"Uhhh, well... She's Raven and my name is Celeste. Who are you and why did you stay here with us instead of going back with the others?" I introduce us to the new boy while also demanding the answer in as much as a nice manner I could force.

"My parents called me Alexandro but I ran away when I was young and now I go by Alex, not Alexander, not Alexandro. Just Alex. I am here because I heard about people who could help me. They couldn't help me, they just rejected me. I would've left them but I heard about something that had attacked two men in this neighborhood and I followed them here. What was it?" He may as well have just told us his life story. The last bit made my breath hitch at the back of my mouth and all eyes were on me.

"That 'something' was me. And I should have explained myself more clearly. Why are you here? " I demand, I put emphasis on the word 'why' so that he could understand what I meant.

"Oh... Well I was hoping one of you would be able to help me. Or both you." He says. His answer shocks both Raven and I and we blink a few times before Raven speaks up.

"Hold on. I thought I could sense something. What are you? I've never felt anything like this before." Raven pokes Alex until he lets out a growl. Us girls jump back in fright and shock.

"Sorry, I don't know what I am. I know what I can do though. But first. What are you two and what do you do?" He argues. Raven lets out a sigh and she says that she is a Witch and before she tells him what I am, I intervene and tell him I am just human. She gives me a look and drags me away from Alex.

"What is wrong with you? Why are you acting like this?" She whispers frantically, scared for some reason.

"Whenever I use what I have, I hurt somebody.

"It's alright. You won't hurt him. You like him." She smirks and turns back to Alex. "She's a Banshee."

"What! How did you-?" I meant to say to Raven but she didn't hear me. I make sure my face isn't red before turning around and looking at Alex.
