"I may not live to see our glory"
Laurens cried lightly and sang to himself before losing his breath.
"He's not breathing!! Oh my god-John.John!" Soldiers yell his name and grieve.
"But I will gladly join the fight" a sudden emptiness overflows Laurens.
"Send the slaves back to their owners.. Have Laurens buried until he's retrieved." The lieutenant orders and refuses eye contact.
"And when our children tell our story"
"Push Mrs.Hamilton! Push!" The doctors surrounded her and she screamed and cried.
"They'll tell the story of tonight-"
Everyone smiled and cried. "It's a baby boy!!congratulations!"
Everyone clapped and comforted the new member of the family. It's a new day for everyone present.
"Tomorrow there'll be more of us!~"
Alexander Hamilton smiled above his wife Eliza as they held their baby.
"My son- Philip "
On January 22nd, Philip Hamilton was born, giving both Eliza and Alexander a new reason to live and create a perfect world for their child. It was a new day, a new start,  a new chapter in Alexander's story. Unknowingly,  it was also a new chapter for his deceased friend, John Laurens.

John opened his eyes slowly, almost hesitantly as if he were scared of what he'd see. It was a small room. A brown cream like color wall surrounded him and farther in front of him was a brown handcrafted crib. "What is this- where am i?" He asked himself, analyzing each and every object in the room. He walked around and noticed a picture frame beside the wall on a nightstand. Laurens picked it up and noticed Eliza, Angelica and Peggy in the picture. "The Schuyler sisters? Why is this here-"
John was interrupted immediately by a loud wailing noise beside him. Laurens looked around before seeing the source of the noise coming from the crib.
"Oh shit! Uh-uhhh what do I do!?" He turned to the baby unsure of what to do. His eyes widened in nervousness, with sweat forming on his palms. John did his best to calm down the infant; The man made multiple weird faces. Stuck his tongue out and rolled his eyes around as he his cheeks and pulled them. He made a high pitched voice and repeatedly squeaked, "It's okay! It's okay!!"
Laurens really hated himself for doing such embarrassing things. He wasn't exactly a children living type of man. Not that he hated children, he was just god awful at taking care of them. He blushed and grew more impatient, however he knew he had to or at least he thought so. It's no use, the baby continued to cry, getting louder by each inhalation of air.
John looked around, grabbing onto his hair in frustration. He didn't understand children and why they cried. Were they hungry?or scared? Or needed attention? Or just woke up? No one knows, certainly not John.
"Fuck!" He yelled to himself as he paced in circles. He breathed heavily before reaching towards the distressed infant. He wasn't sure if he could even grab him, seeing that he was as transparent as the ghost, Casper. He needed to try though.
Laurens grazed the boy's head in an attempt to reach around and pick him up, however he was cut off. A glow shined immediately on the baby, making John jolt back and cover his face. Did he do something wrong? Probably-
Finally the glow began to fade,  revealing the baby with short curly hair and visible brown freckles. "Woah.. You look just like me-" John whispered to himself in complete shock before being interrupted by a familiar voice coming from behind. He turned quickly as the stranger passed right through him. Turning back around, he saw a stressed man, combing his hair back. The dark circles were as clear as day and strands of hair slid down his head the moment of any physical contact. Laurens blinked, completely confused and analyzed the man before smiling almost immediately. It was Alexander. It's been so long since he's seen him. He was overjoyed. He waved at the zombie-like man excessively as he yelled for his attention. "Alexander!Hey! Yo!! Alex!?" Hamilton didn't seem to notice him nor hear anything that came out of his mouth. It made John frown as the realization hit him. That's right- the dead can't talk to the living. Alexander lifted his child and chuckled before freezing. He seemed astonished by what he saw. Laurens tilted his head and got closer to the two men, standing beside Alex to see what had made his jaw drop. Hamilton couldn't seem to separate his eyes from his child. It was the most beautiful thing he had ever saw on him. "You look just like him," he said with a faint smile, caressing the boy's chubby cheek. Laurens stared and smiled after, turning to look at Alexander with a relaxed and happy expression. Seeing his dear friend's child right before his eyes filled him with joy. He clenched his fists into a ball quickly and gazed at the cooing baby. He now understood why he was here, why he was still seeing the day, why he could still hear the birds chirp, why he was beside his friend once again.  John felt the emptiness that came along with death suddenly lift from his soul. He smiled and continued to watch the two men, wishing he could have been there in flesh and none.
"Philip, my son.. I know you'll blow us all away. I know you will." Alex hummed to himself as he comforted his sniffling child. John faced the two of them and waved at the infant that attempted to reach him.
"Philip, huh?...I promise I'll protect you." He faintly smiled before looking towards the window by the side of the crib.
"Today was yesterday's tomorrow and more of us came as I had hoped" he whispered.
