The Death Trap

Chapter 1 | What have I done?

When I woke up, it was 2 in the morning. I decided to go for a walk to wake me up. I got dressed, put my trainers on and walked out. When I was locking the door I heard a laugh behind me. I turned around, but no one was there. I walked fast down the street and to the shop. When I was shopping, I felt as if I was being watched. I bought some fruit, cereal and bread. As I was leaving I heard someone call my name. They told me to come over, so I did as I didn't want to be rude. The guy told me to sign a sheet if I wanted my car cleaned for free. I signed it, even though I didn't want to. That morning when I got home, I had been away only 1 hour, my house was a mess. I thought someone was messing with me, so I pulled my gun out the cupboard.

I checked the house and no one was there. I heard a crash in the kitchen. I went downstairs and all the cabinets were open. I heard a bang on the window and looked out. It was the man who was holding the sheet outside the shop. How did he find me? Did he follow me home? I grabbed the phone and called the police. They questioned the man. Then they questioned me. I explained to them that I didn't know the man, I had seen him at the shop when I came out. They left and took the man home. I kept my gun at hand in case he decided to come back. As I was tidying I found a note. I see you, it read. I assumed it was a trick. No you don't I wrote on it as I chucked it in the bin. When I had finished tidying, I watched the news. It had the man that had followed me on it and said that he was a criminal. That's when I looked beside me. The note was back. It had more writing on it. It had the words, yes I do. 

I jumped up and chucked the letter away. I phoned the airport and said I wanted to get on a plane to get me away from here. I packed some clothes and left. I phoned my parents and told them I would be gone a few weeks. When I got on the plane I was glad I had left. But when I saw what happened next I wasn't so glad...
