Practice
I walk quickly, hoping to be left unnoticed. "Hi, Ami!" Emilia says with bright enthusiasm. "Hi." I say softly. She's going to think you're so weird. At least say hi with some brightness. You're so stu- My thoughts were interrupted when she side hugs me. Butterflies are just multiplying by the second in my stomach. How does she make me feel the way I feel? Man, I wish I was at home. I never actually bothered to think if my only parent would accept me the way I am. "Emilia! Hurry up and help us with the cones!" her best friend Emé yells from across the field. "Got to go set up the field." I say awkwardly. You f-ing retard. "Tsk. Right." she says back.
Now, I don't know what actually happened but I have an idea. I jogged alongside her, tripped on this hole in the ground, and took Emilia down with me. F my life went constantly in my head as I stared into her twinkling dark brown eyes, long eyelashes, long blond-brown hair framing her face, adorable dimpled smile growing on her face- wait what? "You were staring at me." was all she said, ending with a cute giggle. "I was not." I say back. I was merely noticing the fact God spent a little more time on you. I must have the most reddest blush on my face.
"I think we need to go um, uhh..set up." was all I could manage to say. Heart is thumping, head hurting, good lord she is going to kill me one of these days. She smirked, walking away. Oh crap, does she know? What should I do? I should just casually finish practice and see if she acts differently. I walk over, trying to avoid holes, to the rest of the team. I see Emilia giggling with her group every two seconds. Oh, dear sweet baby Jesus, give me a sign she was laughing at some thing that happened at school. I walk to my other bestie Jenna and the most weirdest thing happened. Jenna tripped over nothing, her ball coming out of her hands, I trip over it, and fall onto the nearby concrete sidewalk. All I remember before the darkness was a pair of concerned dark brown eyes.
3 hours laterI sat up quickly, head still groggy, and hit my forehead against someone else's. "Ow!!!", we both say. As my head clears, I see Emilia rubbing her forehead. "Sorry about that." I say awkwardly. "It's okay." she said tiredly. "Where is everyone else?", I say. Seeing her offended face, I quickly add, "Not that you are bad company or anything." "Everyone came before just when you were knocked out." Emilia says, her eyes misty with recalling. Oh shit, did I really say something wrong? You dumb- "Emilia.", a faint voice cried. "Oh, I need to go. Good bye." she said. "Oh, okay." I say with concealed despair. Maybe I should say something... "Hey, Emilia! Wait!" ,I say. "Yeah?" she asks. "Uhhh.. Do you want to go to the movies after I get checked up and watch something like ummm..Fate of the Furious?" I ask hopefully. "Sure." she replies. With that, she left, unaware of the happiness that bloomed in my heart.
Sorry, I have a tendency of short chapters.
