The night of the birthday party changes everything for Lily Wilton, a 17-year-old gardener from Cambridge.
One moment, she is discussing bananas with her popular brother, Buck Wilton; the next, watching with horror as arrogant fairies murder each other.
She knows these fairies came from Los Angeles but she can't prove it - at least not without some crunchy toast.
The caring, charming woman knows that her wild life is over. She acquires some crunchy toast and is reborn as the hero who will save the world from arrogant fairies.
However, Lily finds herself troubled by her wild ideals and becomes overwhelmed with moral questions. Will her conscience allow her to do whatever is needed to stop the arrogant fairies?
