(A/N) Hey, guys. I know half of you can care less about the author notes, but I just wanted to say thank you. I wish my story could be great but when I first started writing it I had no idea what I was doing. I still dont know much really but yeah I wanted to get rid of the book but I know it would be unfair for some people who actually enjoy the book. So, yeah after I'm finished with this book I'll spend more time writing more and getting to know how to become a better writer.
(Still in Zayn's P.O.V.)
"Wait what?" I shake my head in disbelief.
"I said she's in a coma. She was hitten pretty hard, and we found pieces of rock sunken into her skin so a rock must have been thrown at her head and whomever has done it has caused the brain to not function properly." The nurse explains.
"What do you mean the brain cannot function properly?" I hiss.
"She.. well a parts of her brain has been damaged." Her eyes meet mine, but immeadiatly fall to the ground.
"What parts? Will she be okay? When will she wake up? She's pregnant. Will she be able to have the children?" I ask questions that need to be answered now. This is all my fault.
"Above the ears rest the temporal lobes, which deal with sound, music, face and object recognition, and some parts of long-term memory. They also house the speech centers, although this is usually on the left side only, so the speech centers were not affeted-"
"Wait long-term memory? Wait will she remember anything? Will she remember me? Is there more?" I realize everyone's gaze is on me looking as if I'm a maniac, but they don't know my girl is in a coma.
"What the fuck are you all looking at?" I yell. Everyone, instantly looked away and went back to reading their magazines, and on their phones.
"Sir, you need to calm down. Follow me and I'll explain the rest." She leads me out of the waiting room and into an office that has the ugliest brightest colors that Anna would have loved.
"Take a seat." She gestures towards the chair. I sit and wait for her to start.
"You had asked many questions, and as I was saying since her temporal lobes have been damaged she probably has forgotten everything. There is a 40% chance she will remember but people normally don't. Many people has damaged the same parts, but they had to move on. They didn't remember a thing. I don't know when she will wake up. There has been no brain movement so we don't have a clue. Being in a coma can last for days, months, or even years. Just depends. You also mentioned her being pregnant. She needs to be awake, if not we'd have to do a C-section. We'd prefer not. You also asked if there was other parts of her brain that were damaged, and the answer to that question is yes. Unfortunatly, the hippocampus was damaged as well. Its role was first revealed by patients whose hippocampus was damaged or removed. It plays a major role in consolidating learning and in converting information from working memory via electrical signals to the long-term storage regions, a process that may take days to months. It constantly checks information relayed to working memory and compares it to stored experiences. These patients could remember everything that happened before the operation, but not afterward. If they were introduced to you today, you would be a stranger to them tomorrow. and we have to do that operation on Anna in order for her to live." Everything starts to blur, she has to remember me. She can't forget, and if she doesn't, well I'll make her fall for me again.
"Now let me ask, does Anna have any family that is close to her?" She asks, clicking that pen over and over again and it's really pissing me off.
"Her parents dissapeared when she was younger, and her aunt and her aren't close anymore. Her brother Ashton is close to her. We all live together with a couple of our friends." This is all she needs to know. She starts wrting on the piece of paper.
