After the voice disappears there's another blinding light. This time when the light fades and I open my eyes I'm standing in the middle of a small town. Looking around there seems to be a lot of players.

I check my inventory and see that I have just a dagger to start with. I equip it and decide to look at my stats.

Valos- level 1

Battle masteries:

The start stats are OK for starting but I wonder what battle masteries are. I walk through town noticing how all the buildings are made out of rock, like something you might expect to see in the middle ages. There's a tavern and shops in the center of town, while on the outskirts there's inns and houses.

While walking I haven't seen any NPCs, that's strange. I decide to ask another player who looked like he was a little higher level.

"Excuse me, how come there aren't any NPCs?" I ask the man who appears to be around my age.

"Everything in this game is done by players other than this town. We sell each other weapons and useful items, and offer each other jobs." He explains.

"Seems like an interesting concept. Thank you for the information." I say

"No problem, if your new you should head east out of town. You can kill wolves there to raise your level a bit."

"I will, thanks again." I say turning to head east. A game without NPCs that's pretty cool.

I get to the edge of town and walk through the gate. After walking for about ten minutes I come across a wolf. It's rather small but what should I expect its the area for beginners.

I unsheathe my dagger and step out to fight the wolf. As soon as I do it let's out a howl and two more wolves come out from behind me.

"Shit they're pack hunters." I should have figured, most wolves do hunt in packs.

The wolves start to circle me while slowly closing the distance. It seems like they're waiting for me to attack first.

All of a sudden the wolf in front of me lunges at me baring its teeth. I side step its attack and cut it down the side with the dagger, its life less body drops to the ground as blood pours from its side. One down.

*Ding new battle mastery learned*

I turn to face the two wolves behind me but it's to late, one of the wolves bites my arm. A sharp pain shoots through my body, for a game this pain is intense.

I stab it repeatedly in the side until it stops moving and it's jaws loosen from my arm. Only one more left.

When I turn to face the last wolf I see it running away. I guess they don't like fighting by themselves.

I turn back to loot the dead bodies of the two wolves I killed. From them I get bones and two wolf hides. With those I head back to town. When I get just inside the gate of town I decide to check my stats.

Valos- level 6
Strength-10
Intelligence-6
Constitution-10
Dexterity-8
Agility-9

Battle masteries:
Light weapon mastery-3

That raised my level and I got a new mastery, cool. I head to a shop in the center of town. I decide to go to one of the smaller shops.

"How can I help ya." Says a large man from behind the counter.

"I'd like to sell a wolf hide." I say while handing him one of the wolf hides.

He cocks an eyebrow "You killed a wolf?" He asks looking surprised.

"Yeah I killed two. Why?"

"They're level 10 monsters that hunt in packs. No newbies killed one by themselves before. What level are you?"

"After killing two I'm level 6, a higher level player told me head east to raise my level." I reply.

"Must have been Trevor. He messes with new players and sends them to their death." He replies. Well Trevor seems like an asshole.

"I guess it didn't work for him this time." I say.

"Alright, for one wolf pelt you get 10 silver. Here you go." he says while handing me the silver pieces.

"Thank you, I'm sure I'll be back to sell more goods. My names Valos nice to meet you." I say while extending my hand.

"Nice to meet you too, the names Blade." he says while shaking my hand. After that I leave the shop. I should probably go see a blacksmith and tailor.
