A flash of golden hurtled to the ground, landing on a rose bush.

Inconspicuous droplets of dark red liquid was pooling around a certain rose bush. Torn fabric lay around her.

Shae was bleeding. Landing on a rose bush, the thorns cut deeply into her. Limping, she sat underneath a tree to rest her swollen and throbbing ankle.

She felt overwrought. The night was frigid, and the touch of it stung her face. She was trembling uncontrollably as she fought the urge to fall asleep.

Leaves crackled as footsteps approached.

Slightly raising her head she saw a figure. The moonlight shone onto short, charcoal black hair, but the shadow fell onto the face. He held out a hand.

When Shae didn't budge, he grabbed her hand and was about to pull her up. Almost immediately he let it go.

"Oh heck no." He whispered loudly. He looked behind and signaled. Supposedly an accomplice with the same black hair came into view. They then proceeded to engage in their own conversation.

"Are they idiots?" Shae thought to herself as her vision blurred. She felt her consciousness slip away.

Thump.

Shae fell sideways, finally earning the attention of the two mystery men.

"..What is this?" Shae attempted to move to no avail. She peered at herself to find that her whole body was heavily bandaged. She blinked once or twice. The magnificent tapestry seemed uncannily habituated to her.

Then she looked in front and realised she was sitting in the middle of a long hall and at one end of it was a throne where someone familiar was currently sitting on.

"Home?!" Shae surveyed her surroundings wildly.

"YOU." The King boomed. "What were you thinking?"

Shae would have looked down in disgrace if the bandages allowed her to.

"You." The King continued. "Let the first prince of Vince kidnap you in the midst of your journey. And you had your fiancé rescue you before you two were even married. How scandalous!"

"Now thank the Chryso princes, Shae."

"She doesn't need to, your great King Xeno." A voice from the back rang into the hall.

Shae struggled to look behind. From the corner of her eyes, she could see that they were the people who were loitering at the Vince Kingdom's rose garden last night.

"Instead, I request that she will be under my sole custody for at least half a year so as to curb her undesirable actions." The voice continued.

"I see the basis of your request and I permit that." The King nodded vigorously.

Skiel heard something. However, he was not sure if he had heard right for he had recently developed headaches at night and his ears were ringing.

Silence.

Skiel continued checking the documents his father had passed to him earlier.

Crash.

The sound of breaking glass could be heard, even in the guest room. He flung aside the door and turned the doorknob.

"Sadie! What are you doing here?!"

A teen with light, ash blond hair sat on the bed, swinging her legs front and back while rubbing her palms.

"Well," she said in a light melodic tone. "She found your letters to Miss Coleka Xeno."
