A simplistic love

I stepped outside the doors of my school and into the blinding light of the afternoon. The breeze blew gently across my face, carrying sakura petals with it. The steps leading down to the dirt path were old and cracked, worn down by the many students that went to this school. I brushed my chocolate colored hair out of my eyes and continued to walk down the steps.

Losing my footing, I stumbled and fell face first into the dirt. The ground felt lifeless and cold. I reluctantly picked myself up and saw a boy, about my age, looking at me with concerned and caring blue eyes.

He glanced at the ground and began to pick up my books that had fallen. Is dark hair was ruffled by the breeze. It was short, fluffy, and styled adorably. He stood up once more, extending his arms out, full of books. I took them without leaving his gaze. He had a mid complexion and appeared very tan. He was tall, and well-built, and had on a hoodie with the word Hawaii on it. I must have been staring at him for a bit. He began to show a smile and a nervous stare.

"Oh...uh...thank you."
"No problem."

My heart skipped a beat. My stomach fluttered. His voice was like honey. It was deep and mature. He gave me a warm smile and asked me a question.

"Would you like to eat lunch with me?"

I nearly did flips. "Uh...sure." I gave him a nice smile in return.

He led me to a large sakura tree on the edge of school grounds. We sat down on the cool grass and I looked up to see light filtering through the sacred branches.

"I never asked your name."

"Oh...it's June" I glanced back down at him.

"It is June," he gave a proud smile, "you're very observant!"

"Ha. Ha. Ha." I held in an actual giggle.

He grinned dumbly and said, "I'm Logan."

Logan looked at me the same way I did to him. He was evaluating me carefully and leaned in closer. Sakura petals danced around us as the breeze picked up slightly. His blue eyes seemed to grab mine and he gave a subtle but strong smile. Slowly, hesitantly, carefully he leaned in closer and closer. I closed my eyes and of the world seemed to stand still. He pressed his lips against mine in a cute and awkward way, and I breathed in his scent. The breeze blew against us as he pulled me closer still.
