I look up and saw who caught me and it was my ex boyfriend august. Me and august dated in high school but he moved so we broke up. And I started going with ray.
(The funeral us over and they are walking to the cars now.)
"how you been?"august says
"what do you mean?"I say
"like in life? How's life been since we broke up?"
"it was ok. My life is screwed up right now. Everyone I love is gone. I have nobody."I say with my voice breaking.
"well you have me."
We were at my car by now so august opened my car door and I got in. He didn't shut it yet.
"what do you mean by that?"I say looking up at him
August says "by what?"
Jaylyn: what do you mean by "well you have me."?
"i know this isn't the perfect time but... Jaylyn I love you. I wanna be with you." August says a little nervous
"August no."I say shaking my head
I was about to slam the door but august is kinda strong so he held it open.
"what do you mean "no."?"
"I don't want another boyfriend/ husband. I don't want anything to love me and I don't want to love anything else."I say shaking my head
"so lemme get this straight..."
"Mhm"
He closed the car door. But the window was down.
"you are turning down ME?"he said pointing to his self
"Yep." I say nodding
"your turning down AUGUST ALSINA?"
"Of course. I'm sure any other girl would."
I roll my window up,start my car and drive off to where the luncheon will be at.
