A painful horror scream lasted for an hour. He leaned his firm body to the wall to support standing up. Though there was no scratch on his skin, he stumbled and fell directly to the floor right after. Laying straight on his back, his chest went up and down constantly in a short duration. His lips were parting, breathing and gasping every air around him. Sweats were collecting on his forehead and down on his torso. His droopy eyes were gazing half-conscious at the ceilings and his red hair was messy. The devil looked dreadfully tired.
And there stood an angel who closed her ears and eyes most of time. She was looking at him incredulously.
I couldn't bear listening to his screams. His voice was full of anger––frightening and threatening. I was also tired; it felt like waking up suffering hangover. My whole body trembled and both of my hands were shaking. I didn't know much what my power could do. But from the stories I heard before, there was written that my leader Gabriel could destroy half of sinners on Earth with hers and it was written. As the power faded, it felt like I am in Heaven for a minute and for a moment I had almost forgot he is a demon.
I must remind myself a lot of time that I was with another mortal creature. The one who represented Hell –all of him. He cursed and yelled abruptly every few seconds. He was only a demon and I felt the whole grievous Hell. A demon whose real devil cried inside.
Minah didn't stop crying since the devil's tormented scream. I was sobering up as a slight throb pain in my head suddenly appearing. It lasted shortly and I saw Minah's mother began carrying, entertaining, and cheering her baby. Maybe it was an effect to my power. When the good side won, something good will happen also.
The baby was still crying and I heard the mother's deepest heart thoughts; as a mother–all mothers in the world would have thought the same. She was really scared something will happen to her only child, her love of life, and her treasure. So, she tried giving everything she could to make her child happy.
A human body was created to learn and a child was a starter of a mankind. The first lesson of humankind is responding. Human couldn't understand The Highest's ways because they were made immortal. However, though I was mortal, it was forbidden for me to understand The Highest. But all we know since Heaven existed, He created babies who learn to respond to the world and we delivered them to the Earth.
He made it His way that it all started slow: a baby cries.
The mother was panicking after five minutes. So I drew myself near Minah immediately. "Calm down, Little Princess. It's all right. I know it's scaring you. I was, too. Everything is in control now. Ssst... Mommy is beside you." I whispered calmly beside her ear.
The mother kissed her daughter and whispered: Mommy is here. I knew right then my voice had echoed into Minah's hearing system as I saw her heart rage calming. Not long after, the situation calmed down. The tense air began to fade as Minah drifted to sleep. On her mother's warm arms, little Minah was sleeping peacefully. Her mother started patting her child gently with love. Singing her beautiful voice, Minah was deep in her sleep.
The view made me smile for no reason. Sincere happiness of humanity was what Angels seek despite that no man in the world has no sin.
Thinking about mankind distracted me. I had almost forgot that I had just kissed and tortured a devil.
"You..."
I was startled by a hoarse voice so I turned on my back. The devil was back.
He put his hand on the floor to support his whole body. His other hand was running through his hair. "That was so-" he coughed and laughed. After a moment he continued, "Adorable. I am- impressed."
