Two weeks had past the moments uneventful as it was before, it's as nothing happen before. I attended to the throne room heeding the concerns of the villagers, it was common but now I'm on edge.

The air around felt denser than before. It's as the very air I breathe was being taken from me bit by bit I felt cold, felt my movement went limp. The words of the villager went on deaf ears as if a thousand miles away from where I actually was.

"Queen Cleo, Duke Luc-" before her words were finished she was rudely cut off by the slamming of the doors and the commotion of my guards stopping the person. I felt air rush back into my lungs my paralysis state gone, I had to blink away the feeling of fatigue.

"Cleo, it's either now or never" the voice reminds me of the loud sirens of the dark mermaids. Duke Lucas stood with his height of 5'7 and a round stomach that hinders where all the food is stored and never left. I felt the distaste settling on my tongue as I glance at the aging man before me.

I dismissed my recent attendance in order to have them not see this. Holding my hands to my lap gripping them together in order to keep calm, a soft smile place solidly on my lips in an attempt to fool the eyes.

He looked coyly as his chest move up in a fast rhythm of breathing, I process these previous words before as my eyes scan his dark ones.

"Duke Lucas how rudely of you to enter my kingdom and demand things, have you no courtesy?" I said calmly not taking my eyes from his, I saw the flash of fear but soon it was gone replaced by mischief.

"My beloved wife, it's the only way to get your attention after all you've been avoiding me" my gazed got sharper at the words he spoke, it has he is mocking a powerful being.

"Reframe from the usage of such useless words, I have no time to be avoided when after all it was my answer," I said coming to a stand, I saw his expression drop to anger processing my words.

"So 'my dear husband' what more do I have to say for you to understand," I said in disgust getting closer to where he stands crouching to his level.

He fumbled trying to find words a look of embarrassment crosses his face. I stood towering his frame, 'oh how the mighty fall' my heart whispered, I couldn't agree more when he rushed out leaving only the wind behind.

I took a breath finally feeling at peace, my eyes fell shut basking in the quiet surrounding.

My peace came to an end hearing the rhythmic sound of slow clapping. Opening my eyes trying to find who was present funny how I didn't sense anyone.
