Annabeth's POV

"It's really not that glamorous." I insisted to my roomate, Mitchie, as she swooned over my accomplishment of booking a verizon commercial.

"Are you kidding me? Verizon is a major corporation. This is great, this is gold! Wait till everyone back home here's about how you booked your first commercial." She boasted for me as she finished up doing some of the dirty dishes we had in the sink from breakfast.

I laughed a little before collapsing contently onto our sofa in the connected living room.

Our apartment was small, we had both just "left the nest" only 4 months ago, so the money we had could only afford a one bedroom apartment. But it had 2 bathrooms, a pretty cozy/medium sized living room, and it was in a nice area not too far away from the beach in Santa Monica, Los Angeles. We definitely weren't complaning though, and the two of us genuinely enjoyed it for the most part.

Mitchie and I had been friends since we were little girls, but didn't really get close again until recently. But it was truly like we picked up where we left off, and I thank God every day for having a friend "sister" like her... as cheesy as that sounds.

"Ugh, I better get to work. Do you have a shift later orrrr what are you up to?" Mitchie asked me while putting all of her necessities into her purse.

"Nah, I don't have to work tonight. I'll come with you to work for a bit though, I've been craving Starbucks anyways, and I'll work on this Psychology essay I need to finish up. After that I'll probably just grab dinner and head home. Do you want anything specific tonight?" I answered. If it wasn't clear, Mitchie worked at Starbucks, which was a pretty cool deal... especially out in LA.

"I was actually going to go out with some of my coworkers after to grab some dinner, so don't worry about me." She responded as we walked happily out the door.

"It's relatively quiet here this afternoon." I said to Mitchie as soon as we entered the Starbucks she worked at.

"Hmmm... yeah. Weird. 5:30pm, west LA on a wednesday. I guess this isn't really the prime time of day. But either way, it's usually moderately crowded no matter what....... oh well, easier for me!" She joked before she made her way into the back, to get all of her things together and probably get into full uniform.

I set my backpack on top of one of the comforter seats and glanced through the big window for a moment. The sun was in that weird phase where it's not setting, but it's also not completely up in the air shining brightly in the crisp mid-afternoon type of way. It was lovely, and quite cinematic.

To be honest, I had a tendancy to look at most things... cinematically.

Maybe it's because I feel like I'm part of some wonderful, adventurous, comical, mysterious, magical, romantic, academy award winning movie.

The only problem is... I feel like I've been stuck in the character developement phase for 18 years now, without a hint of genuine plot increase.

Okay... maybe that's pushing it a little.

It hasn't been completely empty... it's just... still in the introduction.

And I couldn't help but feel like some of the main characters were missing.

I mean, I suppose since this is my story, I am the protagonist. But what about the antagonist?

Ha, maybe that's me too.

But that love interest. My story has got to have a love interest.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those girls who refuses to find happiness because I'm not in a relationship of a sort. I don't obsess over having a boyfriend, and I don't think I necessarily need one.
