"do you love her?" I asked as she hung up the phone, leaving the girl on the other end heartbroken.

"maybe at one point I did. but I could never love her more than you," she replied, refusing to meet my eyes.

"you've said that for so long. but nothing ever changes," I mumbled and sat up next to her on her bed.

"do you want things to change?" she asked, this time looking at me.

I shrugged, unable to decide if I could trust her not to break me again. but before I could open my mouth to speak her lips were on mine and I couldn't even begin to think straight.
