I rolled onto the floor and out of bed. "First day." I said to myself standing up and walking to my closet. I picked out a purple shirt with a yellow star on it and some black leggings. I brushed out my hair and walked over to my mirror. I looked depressed, and zombie-like. "(Sigh) Just my everyday look." I walked downstairs holding my phone. "Break- oh you're already here!!" My Mom said. I just nodded glumly and walked over to the table. "Big day today, huh?" She asked. "Mmhmm..." I said eating a spoonful of cereal. "Listen honey, I know you've been depressed every sense IT happened but..." She stopped there. I didn't want to hear anymore. "I'll be fine Mom. Really" I said as I got up without even finishing my breakfast. "I need to get to school." I said. "Uh don't you want me to drive you?" "No I'm okay. I'll walk." I left tired and depressed. Same as every morning. As I walked to school I saw kids happily running around. But then...I walked past the spot. The spot where...the incident happened. I felt my anxiety coming back I began to shake and cry. But I kept walking until I got to school. When I got there it was 3 minutes until the bell rang. I walked through the halls hearing whispers. "Isn't that the girl who's friend died?" "She looks so depressed." "I hope she's okay." "Do you think SHE killed her?" "Nah she was said to be unguilty." All of these things filled my mind as I gloomily walked. "Lillian!!" I heard someone yell. I turned around confused, then there she was. It was my friend Kia. She's a forest nymph and used to live in the forest that Kara was... killed in and had to go to therapy as well because she was taken out of her home when the killing happened. But I knew it wasn't her. I knew even before he was proven not guilty. I had known her for years. We met when we were 9 but started becoming friends at 12. "You ready for our first day?!" She asked excitedly. She was always exited. "I'd be more exited if I was homeschooled." I said. "But then you wouldn't get to see me!" Kia said. "Well I guess that would be a con, huh?" She nodded and led me to our first class.
