really sorry I haven't been updating this book I forgot it was actually in my works so enjoy this chapter I will probably be making one more today.

all of a sudden, me and josh started to drift away. he said he met some new friends. I wasn't surprised, I mean, who wouldn't want to be josh dun's best friend? he's great. unfortunately, we were no longer best friends. he met some girl named Debby or something and they started dating or whatever. but, at least tyler was there for me. we hung out everyday. okay, not everyday, but that's what it felt like. the phone rang and I picked it up. a shaky voice was on the other line. tyler? "hello?"
"alayna!"
"t-tyler?"
"yes, it's me... I need your help."
"what's wrong?"
"josh..."
"what do you mean, josh?"
"j-just hurry!"

he quickly hung up and I put my sweatshirt on and ran outside. I just remembered I didn't know where tyler was. I dialed his number.
"ty, where are you?"
"oh, right. I'm at the-"
"what?!"
"hold- on... you're breaking u-up!"
"alright, i'm in c-columbus-"
"COLUMBUS!" I shot.
"what you're telling me is–you're an hour away?"
"ye-"
a loud cracking noise burst out the phone. "I need a ride..." I whispered, "Don't worry, ty. I'm on my way!"
then I hung up. was it josh making the loud cracking noise? whatever, I just needed to help tyler.

I had no one to take me. Tyler's mom! I called her and she picked up quickly. "I need a ride to Columbus."
"Okay, sweet."

She picked me up and about 45 minutes later, we were in Columbus. I called tyler again. "We're he-here. where are you in columbus."

"AHH!"
"tyler!"
"alayna! help, i'm at- at..."

for some reason he hung up. I got really scared. "Drop me off in this alley. I can go from here."

"I'll pick you up at 8:00 p.m."
"Okay, thanks."

I saw figures wrestling and slamming each other into the buildings. screams of terror escaped a mouth and I rushed over to see Josh hovering over tyler. "josh? what the heck are you doing?" i pushed him away as hard as I could, it wasn't hard enough. he stumbled back a little and shook it off. "Tyler, run."
"no, I'm not leaving you!"
"You have to, I want you to be safe. Please!"
"Alayna... Look out!"

I woke up in a dark alley. There were a million stars in the sky and the moon stood out like the sun. "alayna." a person stood over me, shaking me. "T-tyler?"
"Yes, it's me. Josh's gone."
"Really?"
"Yes."
I sat up and smiled.
"He's–in jail."
I paused.
"Jail?"
"Jail." Tyler put his hand on my shoulder.

"Woah."
