Any day now ,she'll say her first words .
My wife and I have been playfully betting on what she'll say first 'Mama' or 'Dada'. I can hear my wife crooning over her while feeding her .
" Mama's little girl ".
"Mama loves you so much "
Sometimes she isn't even subtle about it ." Say Mama "! Just say it ."
I don't mind it . I still believe that I'll win . When we first brought her home she kept screaming and crying and nothing my wife said calmed her down , but I knew just how to help her sleep . Our daughter was a daddy's girl . My wife needed all the handicap she could get .
I sit our daughter in her chair . My wife and me then started talking like chickens . ' Mama ' Dada ' Say Mama ' Who's Daddy's girl ?'
I pull the gag off our little girls mouth .
" Please ....... What do you want from me ? Please let me go ....
My wife's smile falls off her face . With sadness I put the gag in our daughter's mouth as she starts to scream . I bring her to the cellar and put the lights off . When I come back I see my wife crying.
"I promise that the next one will be better ."
