Flashback-

"Elvin, dear, can you please put away the book? We're having dinner." The boy stared at his mother for a couple seconds, and closed the book.

"Of course mother." He allowed a small smile and began to eat.

"So, I hear your going to be in the AP classes next year." The boy's father spoke while glaring at him.

"Yes father." Elvin avoided eye contact and continued to eat his dinner.

"You better not get kicked out, or else you will be punished." The mother looked up to her husbnd in disbelief.

"Harold.... Thats too harsh! Elvin, just know that even if you get kicked out, we will always love you."

"Not me, I don't love failures. There's no place in this house for people who fail." Elvin felt his presence becoming a bother.

"Harold, stop it. You're pressuring him too much." The two adults stared at each other, the tension growing at an alarming rate.

"I won't let you down, father." Elvin sighed and stood up. "May I be excused? I'm no longer hungry." The mother sent a sad gaze towards her son.

"Go ahead." the father dismissed him. He walked out of the room and went to his room to study. His parents have always been the epitome of 'opposites attract'. His mother, a women who started from nothing. Picking pockets, failing all of her classes, nearly dropping out, she could understand almost anything and everything tough in the world. His father came from a rich family. He had everything handed to him on a silver platter. He aced all of his classes, and kissed up to all of his teachers. One day in high school he was cornered by his mother. She attempted to steal from him, but was caught. He began to like her and often found himself trying to be cornered again. She finally noticed and acted upon the matter, which ended in then getting married. Elvin's father is constantly worried that his son will end up like his mother's former self, so he is hard on the boy.

The mother sat in her seat as she stared down at her food. "'You dont love failures...'" The women was now clenching her fork in order to hold back her yelling.

"Linda... I didnt mean-"

"No, Harold. You didn't mean anything, right?" She snapped as she walked out of the room. The father sighed as he rubbed the part between his eyebrows (glabella).

Flashback end-

The parents sat as they comprehended what the officer told them.

"Are you the parents of Elvin Laurens?"

"Yes...?"

"Im sorry to say this... But your son was found dead in (Highschool). It looked like a suicide, with a stab down his chest and his heart ripped out. I'm so sorry for your loss."

They started to believe it was their fault. That he killed himself because he was pushed too hard, or not loved enough. They would never know that it had nothing to do with them.

Flashback-

Mett me at the park in 10. please.

Babe! Where have you been?? I've missed you so much, I'll be there in 5 if needed, see you then~

The not arrived at the park and stopped when he saw his girlfriend standing on the pavement. "(Y/N)!!" He screamed as he ran up to her. "Where have you been, are you ok? Everyone misses you, I missed you." The girl coldly avoided eye contact so that she wouldn't cry.

"There's something I need to say..." She spoke slowly, and quietly.

"What is it? What happened?" Johnathan moved closer to the girl, only to have her back away.

"We have to break up. I... Goodbye Johnathan." The girl suddenly turned and ran away as fast as she could. Johnathan stood in confusion as tears were streaming down her face.

"We have to break up..." He echoed as he looked down. "(Y/n) why... Why did you- What did I do? Why did you have to leave so quickly. Without... An explanation." He attempted to turn around and walk home, but failed when he fell to the ground. He curled up and cried as his heart broke into pieces.

Flashback end-

Are you the parents of Johnathan Tanski?

Yes... Did he get in trouble?

No... We found him him dead in (his highschool). He had a stab wound in his chest. It looked like someone murdered him, but there was no evidence of who did it. We're very sorry.

The parents didnt even speak. They sat next to each other in their couch as the room filled with silence. Who would want to kill their child. He never got into trouble, he went took part in school club, went to school events, got passing grades. He never made any trouble as far as they knew. They suspected his ex but was completely taken off guard when they realized he hadn't been home since they let him out that night. Was their fault that their son was dead? Should they have asked him where he was going? They'll never get the change to know that it was never their fault.
