"....please... Sam..... Ashliee.... please....."

With tears in her eyes, Ashliee dashed toward the calls for help. She already knew who it was, flashes trickled in her mind.

Kitty in the corner.

Hugging her knees.

Crying.

Yelling.

Screaming.

Ashliee sprinted faster. She found herself running though the city close to home. The alleyways were dark and suspicious, but that's the kind of place where Kitty would need help.

"Sam..........."

"KITTY!!!"

"Ashliee......

"I'M HERE! WAIT PLEASE! HOLD ON!"

"What are you- Huh? Wha- No... please... no no no no PLEASE!"

Ashliee was screaming. She was terrified. She wanted to help. She needed to help. Ashliee turned the corner of a stripper's club and into a dead end.

Kitty was on the ground.

"K-Kitty?" Ashliee said, with silent cries in her voice. She walked up to her.

"Kitty?"

She didn't move. Ashliee's heart leaped in her chest. Tears uncontrollably fell down her cheeks.

"Please?"

Kitty's eyes fluttered open. Ashliee ran to help up Kitty.

"Are you okay? Answer me, Kitty."

"Ashliee? Aren't you supposed to be at home?"

"No, not when you're in trouble."

Kitty was wearing a very revealing outfit. She seemed broken. Her hair was cut but something other than scissors. Whoever did it did a terrible job. Ashliee looked around and saw a few locks of her hair laying on the ground next to a knife.

"Kitty! Your hair!" Ashliee exclaimed, backing away from her.

Kitty stumbled and reached to her head, "M-my hair? They-they cut my hair??"

Ashliee rushed back up to Kitty before she fell over again, "Yeah, your face, too."

Kitty ran her finger along a deep cut though her throat.

"What happened?" Ashliee asked.

"I was on a mission and these guys noticed me. T-they walked up to me a-and they took me o-out back and-" Kitty started falling over again.

"Kitty, hey, it's okay, I'm here. I should've made it in time, I could've prevented this. I'm sorry," Ashliee apologized, still cries in her voice.

"Ashliee, let's go home," Kitty sniffled.

Ashliee wiped away her tears and nodded. They headed out of the alley and into the open. They walked out of the city to home together, avoiding being noticed by anyone.

Ashliee's phone rang again. It was the unknown number.

"Hey, can we stop? I need to take this," Ashliee said, turning to Kitty.

"Yeah, kid. Do your thing."

Ashliee thanked Kitty and answered the phone.

"Hello?"

"Ashliee! What the fuck! Answer me next time!"

It was Gabe.

"I don't want anything to do with you, and because of that, my sister was-"

"I don't give a fuck about your sister! I needed you to be here!" Gabe yelled.

"I don't want to deal with this shit, Gabe. Leave me alone, I'm trying to help out Kitty."

"No, Ashliee. You're the one who needs help! You need to learn to control your abilities and-"

Ashliee hung up on him and blocked the number.

"Who's Gabe?" Kitty said in a sing-song voice.

"Oh, um, no one.." Ashliee said, hiding the truth.

"Yeah.... right... he must be special, you were swearing and OH what Sam would think..." Kitty said, teasing her.

"Oh my god, Kitty please don't!" Ashliee pleaded, continuing forward with her.

"I don't know, maybe it'll just slip out in a conversation and-"

Ashliee put her hands over Kitty's mouth. Kitty licked her hands.

"Ah! What the fuck?!"

"Haha! Good job, guess I have to tell Sam..." Kitty said, her gaze following someone walking along the other sidewalk along them.

"Hey, Ashliee, hurry please, we-we need to go home," Kitty pleaded.

"Why-?"

"Now, we don't have much time. We have to avoid someone. Go, now."

"But-?"

"Go, he noticed us, go, now!" Kitty warned, pushing Ashliee forward.

Ashliee started to a run, still holding Kitty's hand, she didn't want her to get lost. The civilians were obstacles they avoided, almost bumbing into some people. Ashliee glanced back and noticed three guys running after.

"Kitty! There's someone behind us!" Ashliee yelled, pointing back.

"That's them! GO!" Kitty yelled back.

Ashliee couldn't run any faster than she already was and the men were catching up to them. Kitty picked up Ashliee and swung her onto her back. Ashliee held on for dear life and Kitty ran faster than she ever has. She was running in heels.

"Kitty, take off the heels!" Ashliee said into Kitty's ear.

Kitty kicked off her heels and ran faster than ever before. The guys were falling behind.

Kitty stopped at a field and looked back. They were gone. She put Ashliee down and continued on the path to home. She was breathing heavily. Ashliee was just fine.

"Who were those people?" Ashliee asked.

Out of breath, Kitty replied, "They were the ones who hurt me. I remember before they knocked me out that they were coming back. They did. That's them."

"Did they hurt you like Dad hurt me?" Ashliee asked, trying to avoid the flashbacks.

"Yes, except a lot worse. But anyways, how did you know I was in trouble?" Kitty asked.

"Um, I heard you," Ashliee replied.

"Really? From home? I was that loud?" Kitty questioned, the sniffles coming back.

"Yeah, did no one else come?" Ashliee asked.

Kitty sat down and started to cry.

"Kitty, hey it's okay-"

"No, Ashliee, it's not. If I was that loud everyone could've helped me. If I was that loud, someone would've called the police. I don't matter..."

"Kitty, stop. You do matter, really, you do. A lot. Let's go home," Ashliee said holding out her hand.

Kitty took her hand and Ashliee helped her up. Ashliee held Kitty's hand on the way home.

They walked through the front door and Sam was on the wall phone calling 911. Sam dropped the phone and looked at Kitty with tears in her eyes.

"We're sorry..."
