"So are you thinking of asking Stevie to the dance? I'm mean she's pretty hot man, but are you gonna chicken out again?" Sam asked as we walked down the hall to our Latin class.
"Of course. This is only the biggest dance of the year. And I promise that I will dance with her this year." I had chickened out of asking Stevie to the dance for the past two years. I had had a crush on Stevie since our junior year of high school and now if I chicken out it will mark the fourth year I've had a crush on her. "Yea. We'll see about that." Was Sams only response. We came to the last wooden door on the right, our teacher usually stood right outside the door collecting the homework she had assigned the night before but today she wasn't. Mrs.Burghundy never took sick days, in fact I had never seen Mrs.Burghandy not stands outside the door. One time she game all of her Latin classes the flu because she refused to take a sick day, and then continued to get mad at us for not being in class. "Maybe they finally fire her for the flu incident." I said to Sam. I touched the cold metal door handle, one that I had never touched because Mrs.Burghandy never let anybody touch it, and stepped into the large class room. I looked towards her desk and saw an old man hunkered over a small laptop squinting at it. Mrs.Burghandy's classroom had two levels. About half of the room was the regular level and the other half was raised about three feet off the ground. Nobody knew why, not even Mrs.Burghandy. I climbed up the step easily as I had done so many times before and strolled to my seat in the back right corner and sat down. I pulled out my Latin notebook and began flipping through the pages looking for a piece of paper that I had jotted down a short story on, I decided to finish that in class today because of the sub. I looked up from my writing when up heard the sub clear his throat and stand up. I peered down into the front row and saw Sam scrolling through some girls Instagram. "Hello student's." The old man said in a rather shaky voice, he held up a clipboard and squinted hard at it and started reading off names I tuned him out because I had the last name on the roll "Jaxnonis West?" I looked up from my paper kinda pissed. "Pre-zent." I said with an annoyed tone. Every body knew to not call be by my full name, even the teachers. "Don't play with me boy." He said with an equally annoyed tone
"Man why would I? Aren't you a bit old?" The classroom rerouted into laughter as I looked back down at my paper and continued writing. CLACK. "Your teacher may be gone but I know Latin and I will be her stand in until she gets back. if you will direct your greedy little faces to the board, we will begin to learn 15 new words today. After you brats finish doing note for them you will write sentences with the new words in them. Am I understood? Good." and he began.
I looked down at my notes. 'So. Unclean, snatched, opponents, congregation, cursed, diabolical, exorcise, admonish, power, every, their, spirit, anyone, legion, and away. Most of these words we have already learned.' Meh. It will be easier. Then suddenly, I had an idea. I quickly scrawled the words onto the sheet of paper in front of me and ran it up to the front. "I'm done." I said slamming the paper on his desk. He snatched it up and began to read it as I walked back to my seat. I sat down and watching him slowly get more and more visibly angry. "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?" He screamed
"Exactly what you wanted sir. It has all the words you said. And those are sentences.
"THIS IS A DEMON EXORCISE RITUAL!"
"It's from a show. Dude. It's technically not wrong."
"WELL GUESS WHAT? I SAY IT IS AND THIS SUMMATIVE IS GOING INTO THE GRADEBOOK AS A ZERO."
"You can't actually do that because I did it the stuff you wanted me to. You said, and I quote 'After you brats finish doing note for them you will write sentences with the new words in them' end quote. You actually said doing note for them." I said leaning forward as I said note
"GET OUT OF MY CLASSROOM."
"Technically it's Mrs.Burghandys classro-"
"OUT."
I packed up my stuff and threw my backpack on my shoulder, "See you later losers." I said as I left the room. As I stepped into the hall u let out a quite breath "What the hell did I just do?" I asked myself quietly. I turned to the large floor to ceiling window to my right and saw the cement oath shaded by the oak trees and thought what a wonderful walk I will have as I leave early from my last class of the day on a Friday. I turned and barely caught a glimpse into the small window of the dark room across from the Latin room. The art class wasn't in right now because they were painting landscapes out side. And I knew that the girl that Sam, my best friend, couldn't be kissing the girl that I had a crush on for four years that should be outside right now. Sam had Stevie backed into a corner and she was rubbing her hands all over Sam's chest, because maybe I forgot to mention they were both shirtless. I forced myself to look away after making sure that was Stevie. But it was her, her perfectly cut blonde and brown hair with those beautiful blue eyes. I ran down the hall thinking about what I saw. She was exactly what I had imagined her like, maybe better. She had a flat stomach with perfect curved hips. Her lacy black bra cupping perfect bre- I shook my head violently, trying to get the thought that my best friend was probably banging my crush right now. I decided against going down the elevator because I would probably punch someone in the face the second I saw the, regardless of who they were. I ran down the three flights of stairs by two's and burst through the back door. I ran down the cement path that I had seen through the window. It didn't feel so happy anymore. I heard someone call my name from behind me but I ignored them. I tok a sharp left and headed for the J dormitories, the biggest and the furthest away from the campus. I knew no one was in our dorms right now, so I could take the front. I ignore the girl at the front desk and ran up the wooden stairs all the way up to the top floor. I continued running to my dorm the last door on the right just like Mrs.Burghandy's Latin class. The memory already stung. I plunged my hand into my pocket and fished around for my lanyard. I pulled it out at last along with some pencils. "Dammit!" I said loudly, dropping down I picked up the pencils and shoved the key into my door and burst inside. I decided not to break down until I was safely in my room with the door locked, the shade down and my face in a pillow. I pulled the key out and slammed the door shut with my foot as I threw my stuff down onto the floor. The large amount of pillows and blankets on my bed called to me. I grabbed the meanest one and sat down a girly in my office chair. I dread the pillow onto my desk and plunged my face into it. I sobbed silently, the only sound being the occasionally gust of wind and my sniffles. "Why. Why did this happen? Today was going so well."
I looked up from my pillow a couple minutes later and was greeted by my red puffy eyes and a tear streaked face. Dramatically I threw toil low back into my bed and pushed everything else off my desk. This consisted of many notebooks, binders, pencils, pens, colored pencils, paper, and other materials. With my foot, I opened the bottom left drawer of my desk and pulled out the thick three ring binder and plopped it on my desk. I grabbed one of the pencils from my cargo shorts and began writing where I left off. At about four thirty I had gotten a text from Sam.Sam~0-0~> Yo, didn't see yu after class. Wher u at boi
You> I was arguing with the guy and he told me to leave class...
Sam~0-0~> R u good? U never use tha dot-dot-dots unless you r upset
You> Yea. I'm fine. I just have a writers block that all
Sam~0-0~> so how r u on askin Stevie to rha dance buddy boi
Sam~0-0~> *thaI slammed my onto my desk. I looked back down at my writing, this was the perfect part. I always wrote what I was feeling into my writing and they had just entered a storm. "If this ever gets published this will be the only time where a teacher wok, be right about the writing expressing their feeling. Stupid teachers. When the writer says the curtains wee blue he doesn't mean that he was so tragically depressed about his recent tragedies, he means the curtains where effing blue." I put down my pencil and went to my backpack. My laptop was in the front pocket of the black backpack with an assortment of hot topic buttons. The trip back to my bed was a slow one as I looked around at the various things around my room. A collage of anime posters, a pile of dirty clothes, floating ball shelves with random things on them, a black book case filled with textbooks and other binders. The black desk sat parallel against the left wall to my once again black desk with s large black mirror hanging in front of it. The other wall had a medium sized window that the shades were down on. I flipped into the comfortable mass of pillows and blankets and began scrolling through my feed on tumblr. Reality escaped me as I scrolled through the endless amount of comments jokes and photoshopped pictures, the only thing that snapped me back was my phone vibrating against the glass of the desk. I sat my laptop to the side and got my phone.

Accept DeclineI dropped my phone on the floor and went back to scrolling through tumblr, ignoring the repetitive sound of my phone buzzing on the floor. It must have helped me to sleep because I began to doze off, the class become farther apart until the stopped completely. I checked the time right before I passed out 6:45
