Don

Don paced nervoisly in front of the swingset, his mother's words echoing in his head.

"You're going to this school."  She had last growled.  "and when you come back, you'd better be the best damn id this town has ever seen."

Don fgrimaced.  The boiling sense of rage in his stomach spiked, and for a moment everthing was tinged red.  A metal taste filled his mouth.  He clenched his fists, making his nails bite into his palms.

Then it all vanished, like someone had found his control panel and flipped the switch.  He stopped pacing and looked around.  A cool breeze sighed around him.  On hit was the daint scent of jasmine.

Don turned anf she was there.  Serenity. Don offered her one of his rare smiles, which she returned.  Her brown eyes shone with happiness like always.  The ind blew her long blonde halo into a halo of gold.

"Atreyu her yet?" She asked.

Don shook his head.  "Said he be here in five, but that was seven minutes ago."  Annoyance bubbled up inside him.

"Good."  Serenity stepped closer and kissed him.  For a second, nothing existed except the two of them.  All the tension built up inside of Don melted away, and his whole body relaxed.

Serenity pulled away.  A playful smile played with her mouth; Don couldn't help but smile back.

Twice in one day, Don thought.  Wow.

Someone coughed behind him, and hespun.  Serenity laughed.  Atreyu took a syep back, hands up, but his trademark crooked smile ruined the scared image he was going for.    Dan smothered the smile on his face.

"So,"  Atreyu said, "what's the news?"

"Don and I are being sent to the 'boarding school'-"  Serenity put air quote around her words.  "-bit it's really just a correctional facility for minors.  They deal with a wide range of problems."  She shrugged.  "I don't see how being pro-love is a problem but my parents seem to think so, so..."

Don rolled his eyes.  They'd had this conversation before, about pro-love.  But Serenity still didn't seem to get it.

"B- Boarding school?"  Atreyu's eyes were wide, their color mimicing an ocean storm.  Don noticed the his friend was twisting his black ring, like he always did when he got nervous.  Something was up.

"What's on your mind?"  he looked at his friend as he felt Serenity's hand take his.  "I heard  mym mom say that she was gonna send me off too,"  Atreyu continued to play with his ring.

"What the hell is going on?"  Don set his jaw.

"Whatever it is, won't it be fun?!"  Serenity bobbed up and down.  "We'll be together."

Don unclenched his jaw.  He started to think deeply about why this was happening.  It all made sense, medically.  Don himself was always angry, exept with Serenity, Serenity, well she was always extremely "pro-love".  And there was the leader of their trio,  Atreyu.  He'd never been truely right after his father left him that ring and disappeared.  He was always talking about "The damn voices, Don, the damn voices."

But on thing didn't add up.  Why had they all been sent to the same boarding school?
