I slid in and out of consciousness as voices from afar seemed to be saying inaudiable things to me. I felt my body jolt a little as I was shifted on to something, softer than what I had been on before. As I was slid back and forth in between consciousness, I picked up bits of conversation that went around me:

"Whitney....Down... Gwen..."

"Okay?....house...family..."

It was all I heard until I slid back into darkness. Through the next minutes, I felt being moved, but it was fuzzy.. I slid back into a deep dream in no time at all.

The puffy clouds in the beautiful spring morning.. The clouds were such like cotton candy. I reached my hand and briefly touched a cloud. Gentle wind blew my hair, spreading the smell of honey. It was wonderful. I could stay here forever... "You could stay here forever, if you wanted" said a voice from behind me. I frowned and turned around, but couldn't see anyone. I turned back around and stared at the sky, once more enveloped in the beauty and bliss of the world. I Could live here forever.. It is truly beautiful... But what about my life back before? It's so wonderful here, a bliss, free of pain and sorrow. But life is meaningless, just floating along if I stay in this world.. No one to be with, and the world is lone. No love or compassion, just me and the sky. In ways that is good, for I could be closer to the Heavens. But what is the point of living a life without love? I must... I must go back.. people are in need of me.. My mother.. Emma.... America...

Smooth covers. my first thought when I woke up. I tried to move my eyelids. They didn't budge. I finally opened them on the third try.
"You're awake.." said a familiar voice. I groaned and put a hand to my face. My entire body ached, and my head throbbed like  insanity, and I could barely speak.
"Meri?" I asked, attempting to sit up. The second I did, however, pain shot through my head, and I yelled out.
"Lie down," said a second voice nearby, "you'll only damage your head even more."
I looked around me to see that America was over me, and to my left, was my mother, resting a hand on my shoulder.
"Is Adam okay?" I asked worriedly. He had too been at the concert, and he could be in serious condition.
"I'm going to go and find her." my mother walked out of the room in a rush. "Wait here America."
Just that moment I realized that I was in a beautifully furnished room.
"Where am I?" I asked tentatively.

"Surprise surprise. I can't tell you. You might freak out." said America, smiling naughtily down at me. My mom poked her head through the doorway and said,

"Gwen. There's someone here that wants to see you. She's quite happy you're alright, but she only has a few minutes. Her husband and son are also needing her, and she managed to space time for you." my mother moved aside and I gasped.

It was Alicia Keys. THE Alicia Keys. I sat up as quickly as I could, and tried to get up off the bed without wincing, but it was inevitable.

"Lie down, Gwen. I'm so glad you're okay." Alicia said calmly at me, "you did amazing on the stage."

"What happened? is everyone okay?" I asked in a rush. "I'm fine.. I hope your husband and son are all right. Let me go help them." I stood up and quickly walked, but before I got far, the world swam in my eyes.

"They're fine. Gwen lie down. You hit your head pretty badly when you fell." said Alicia.

"The police have taken a few people into custody as suspects. But one of the policemen wanted to ask you if you saw anything." said America.

Alicia Key's POV

I was in the kitchen of my house when Gwen's mother walked into the room. Before she went up on stage to sing, she'd told me her name. I quickly approached her, asking her about her daughter.

"She's fine. Thanks for being so concerned about Gwen. I hope your husband is alright." said Gwen's mom.

"Mrs. Pharolia, thank you so much." I said, "They're doing fine. They just seem to be sleeping for a while now" I added hastily. When Gwen had shook my shoulders at the time the gun went off, I was startled. I wanted to go and help the people in the crowd, yet she wouldn't let me. She had an endurance that could not have been taught, and that I admired about her.  I just wished that I had been able to help the ones in the crowds.

"please just call me Emmaline. You are, after all, my daughter's biggest idol.." Mrs. Pharolia said, " Gwen just woke up, and I think she'd be quite surprised to see you."

I nodded at her and agreed to go and see her. I had things to see to later today, but there was time to see.

I watched as Mrs. Pharolia pushed open the door. "Gwen. There's someone here that wants to see you. She's quite happy you're alright, but she only has a few minutes. Her husband and son are also needing her, and she managed to space time for you" Mrs. Pharolia has a knack for saying the right things.

Mrs. Pharolia moved aside to reveal me, and I heard a gasp. Gwen sat up as fast as she could in the bed, and I could tell that she was trying really hard not to wince. I felt terrible. Perhaps I shouldn't have come. I shook my head, taking the doubt away.

"Lie down, Gwen. I'm so glad you're okay."  I said as calmly as I could.  I found a need to compliment her, to take her mind off the tragedy of last night.

"You did amazing on the stage." I smiled.  Gwen smiled back, though she seemed a little lost and panicked. I guess I could safely say that we all were.

"What happened? is everyone okay?" Gwen's voice was rushed.  "I'm fine.. I hope your husband and son are all right. Let me go help them." she stood up, but right away I could see the pain grow in her eyes. Gwen started rocking a little.

I told Gwen about her head, and told her to lie down. She had  hit her head quite badly that night. I'm forever grateful to Whitney for doing that. We would have all died without her.

After I had been checked and given medicine by emergency responders, I had volunteered to keep my two backup singers and Gwen at my house, because there had been no space at the hospital due to the grand crowd injured by glass. It was definitely big enough for my family and the three of them. Gwen was already out cold by the time we reached my house, so I had the paramedics put her in the spare room as I called her parents and Adam. The shock of what had happened to my husband and son... I have never remembered a  scene quite so  perfectly.....

Hey guys! Thanks for having faith in me and reading so far! I'm so glad that you decided to continue reading. I'm sorry if the last chapter had been a little violent, pls tell me if it was. I also want to thank you for not being bored out by what had been the first 8 chapters. I apologize for that. Now it's time for some real inspiration from the goddess Alicia! I try to think the way she does, but of course, I'm not her. If she's looking at this, So sorry that it's underrated or not right! (I really hope she's looking at it, but it seems unlikely.. she is my idol and inspiration after all..) Thanks once again for reading, and remember to Vote, Share, Follow, and Comment! (No negativity please,)
