I was startled out of my horrific slumber, staring into a deep, leaden oblivion .The only sound I was able to hear were whimpers, I began to sit up, my hands became encrusted in something, the substance smelt stagnant and foul.

I touched the substance with the tip of my tongue, rapidly regretting this decision, I spat the contents out onto the floor.

 I heard heart-wrenching sobs, they sounded familiar,the realization of who the person was suddenly hit me.

"Eden, where are you?" I whispered.

I heard her weezing and sobbing , I began to fondle around the floor gently, to ensure that if I did find her, I didn't inflict anymore pain on her  than the damage that had already been carried out.

My hand skimmed her foot, I slithered closer to her, I reached out for her hand, knowing obviously that the cause of her pain was something more severe. 

"What happened?"I said, continuing to whisper.

"When you were out cold, I was struggling to free myself from the mans grasp,he became very angry and slammed me down, after that my shoulder has been in pain eversince."

"Can you raise your arm?"

All her attempts to raise her arm, completely failed.

"Does your arm feel numb or tingle?" I asked.

"Both" she replied.

"You've broken your collar bone, Edie, I'm so sorry I can't help you, all of this is my fault, if I'd have watched over you, during the celebration, you would've been safe"

"You're not my mother, Arty and you were having fun" If you could call that night "fun", then I'm the Queen of Sheeba.

"Don't move if you can help it, you don't want to make it worse"

"I'll try, Arty"

We just sat there in complete and utter silence,waiting, preaparing for what was fated for us, most likely death, I'm not an optimistic person, so I could see that the end was very near.

I heard someone stomping towards us,nearing closer and closer.

I heard the scraping of a door opening and my vision was blurred by rapidly flashing lights, I was roughly seized by my arms, I kicked out and yelled for Eden, she was screaming out for me.

Her screams eventually became muffled and distant as I was dragged further and further away from her.

I was chained to a boreal,stone wall.

There he stood, devilment and malice etched in every wrinkle and crease in the mans twisted gaze.

"Welcome to hell" Tobin smirked,deviously 

 I ignored him and turned my gaze away from his disturbingly menacing face, He clearly didn't like this because he charged towards me, grabbed an enormous chunk of my hair and tilted my head, roughly so that I was facing him.

"You dare to turn yourself away from me" He wrenched my hair harder, I gnawed my lip, to stifle my shrieks that were trying to scrimmidge their way out of my mouth.

He noticed this and clutched and twisted my hair harder, I squawked out in pain, the gesture was returned with a diabolic, sadistic laugh.

He came closer, I could smell the bitter alcohol on his breath everytime he exhaled ."Where going to have some fun, you and me, I stick to my promises, I said I would destroy the children your mother and father had together"

He pulled out the dagger that haunted my dreams.

"The irony of the Sirens is that in the myths, there own poison is deadly to them, lets test this theory shall we?"

He trudged over and then paused "Before we test this theory, I want to see how weak you really are by testing if you'll shift like your mother could" I oppressed a huge sigh of relief.

He stepped over to a gargantuan bucket, that looked like it was filled to the brim with......water?

"This is salt water, it reveals a Siren's true form, but you are a mongrel,so there is a possibility it might not work"

He propelled the contents of the bucket  over me and stood back to wait for me to shift.

Nothing happened,Tobin sighed "Well your not just a mongrel, sweetheart, your also nugatory"

I could feel my blood boil, I gritted my teeth, so forcefully that I almost shattered them.

Tobin once again pulled the knife out and make his way over to me.

He viciously grabbed my arm and slashed into it,leaving a large incision.I gasped not only was blood escaping from my wound, but a thick, jet black substance was flowing out of my arm.That must've been the poison he was ranting about.

He let it drip into a crystal glass, he then forced a fraction of the poison into my mouth.My vision began to blur, dizzyness began to infiltrate my senses.

I began convulsing viciously, I felt like my body was trying to exterminate my organs.

I was startled out of my daze when a loud noise came from my  left, stone were thrown in every direction.

And then Drina, arose from the dust and stone, like an avenging angel, a crossbow was strapped to her back.

"Let  Artemis and my daughter go Tobin, you've had your fun,I want them back, unharmed" Too late for that,I thought.

 "How dare you come here and damand them!, you see I have unfinished buisness with that husband of yours, and this is ho I am paying him back" He leared venomously at her.

"What happened beteen you and him is non of my concern, NOW LET THEM GO!" She shrieked.

She reached for her crossbow but was too late, Tobin charged toards her, jumped on her back and said. "I think you should die, Artemis style" He then slit her throat with the knife and she fell to te ground, instanly.

"No!"I shrieked, I never even got to know my stepmother and she as gone before I could get the chance to.

"Well,your father took my wife away from me,so it was only fair if I took his away from him"

I still couldn't believe it, Drina was dead!
