This was the night everything changed.

He sat, picking at the bandages engulfing his hand. He had burned the skin off of his hand with a lighter he had snuck in.

"Felix, quit messing with it." One of the workers said as she went over to his night stand and placed a half full cup of water and his medication.

He laughed. "But Ally, it feels amazing."

She flinched toward him and threw her hands onto her hips.

"Felix, you are such a demented young man." she remarked.

He tapped his chin with his burnt hand. Pain shot threw him like a bullet.

"Felix the Demented eh, has a nice ring to it." He chuckled making her angry.

Swiftly she moved toward the door as she called out to him. "And it fits you like a glove," She turned and placed a hand on the door. "Honestly Felix, you are seventeen. It's time to stop playing around." And with that she shut and locked the door.

Felix's grin turned sour as he stared at the four walls he had come to know at WinterSide Orphanage. Getting up he grabbed his meds and water. He threw them into his mouth, tilted back his head, and gulped down the ice cold water. He heard the lock click. He snapped his head sideways as the door opened. A frail girl with pale skin and pitch black hair strolled into the room and closed the door. He smiled and wrapped his arms around her.

"Hey sis." He whispered into her hair.

He heard a sniffle and leaned back to look at her face. Tears filled her hazel eyes.

"Why?" She sobbed. He was taken back by this.

"What?" He returned the question.

"Why do you keep hurting yourself?"

She took the cup from him, set it down, and held his hands. He shrugged. She didn't need to know that he liked giving and receiving pain, she is only fifteen, and also he felt sick that he liked such a thing.

He sighed. "Raven you don't need to worry about me."

She looked astonished.

"The hell I don't! F your always hurting yourself, you get in fights with everyone here to the point they have to lock you in your room most of the day, and you don't put trust in anyone; You won't even tell me what happened to our parents." Her voice trailed off.

Now that was a topic he was never going to discuss with her.

"Drop it." He said harshly.

Raven nodded. He felt bad, she always obeyed him, but she never knew why, but he knew.

"I have something for you." Her small voice broke the silence. Reaching in the pocket of her sweat pants she pulled out a long necklace with a small purple crystal at the end. He slid it onto his neck. He didn't like jewelry but for Raven he would do anything. She then pulled out a matching choker and put it on herself.

"Now we match." She giggled then her face fell again.

"What is it this time?" Felix asked.

She began crying again before responding. "I've been adopted."

Felix smiled widely. "I guess we're getting out of here."

Raven locked eyes with him and gripped her chest like she was protecting her heart.

"You don't get it, I'VE been adopted, Felix their splitting us up."

He grew angry. "No I won't let them take you, we can run away."

She shook her head.

"They have cameras all around this place, besides I'm leaving in the morning." She said quietly.

Felix couldn't believe his ears. The only thing that mattered to him, the only thing he had left was being stollen from him in that one night.

"I have to go." She said finally after a long period of silence.

She turned to leave but Felix grabbed her wrist.

"Please stay, stay here with me tonight." He wasn't even looking at her when he spoke.

He didn't want her to see him cry.

"Okay."

He led her to the bed and they laid down. He wrapped his arms around her stroking her hair, pulled up the covers, and started singing. Raven always told him she loved his voice.

"You are my sunshine,
My only sunshine,
You make me happy when skies are gray,
You'll never know dear,
How much I love you,
Please don't take my sunshine away...."

The next day Felix awoke in an empty bed. Hearing a door outside he peaked through his window. His heart hit his stomach as he saw his sister looking up at his window standing next to an open car door.

Felix gently placed his hand onto the glass and whispered. "Well see each other again."

Raven slowly waved to him with a halfhearted smile before getting into the small white car. Felix slid down the wall when the car was out of site. He felt no emotion anymore. All he could do was stare at the opposite wall.

"I've lost everything." He whispered.

He began to violently beat the side of his head with his fist. Pain coursed threw his as he felt hot liquid on his hand. He drew it back to look at it. Blood was smeared on his knuckles. He let out a low chuckle. The door unlocked and in stepped Ally.

"Felix it's time to go to see your therapist," She said as Felix hid his bloody hand. "I would like you to freshen up first."

He nodded and she left the room. Wiping the blood on his black shirt he got up and strolled over to his dresser. He pulled out a black tank top and a pair of black skinny jeans. Quickly he rushed to the bathroom across the hall and locked the door. He turned on the water and stripped out of his cloths. After the painful shower of water hitting his injured head, he dried up and got dressed. When the fog cleared from the mirror he looked at his reflection. His pitch black shoulder length hair hung in soaked locks. His piercing green eyes looked like two emeralds in the lighting. Raven always told him he had good looks but he always scared girls away once he opened his mouth. People always told him he ran his mouth to much. He looked at the scars tracing his body. That night will never leave my thoughts. He told himself. When he finished getting read he marched down stairs to the car waiting in front of the building. When he walked through the halls everyone got out of his way. After the incident where a kid was running his mouth of lies about his sister he almost killed him. The security guards had pulled him off of the kid. If not for them the kid would be dead. No one would mess with them anymore. He slid into the back of the car and stared out of the window as the car pulled away from the curb.
