Disclaimer: The characters mentioned in my story, namely Sav and some others that others might recognize had been taken from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark-Hunter Series. I do not own them, she does. Moreover, the only characters I own here are Shiro and Aldreay.

The last of the ingredients had been added. She held her breath in anticipation. Finally, the curse will be lifted. Finally, he will be free. The shame and embarrassment has been worth it, not to mention the danger they had faced. Smiling, she watched the voodoo priestess stir the pot that held the mixture of dragon’s breath, wolf’s bane, hawk’s cry, panther’s skin, demon’s blood, and a strand of Aphrodite’s hair. It was a special beauty potion that the Fates requested. Once she had it delivered to their domain, they will free the one person she loved from the curse they had put on him. This is the best for both of them. No longer will they be bound together as mates but free to find their own mates, live their own lives. Most importantly, Aldreay will not suffer the pain the curse has caused.
“Here you go, dear,” the priestess said, giving her the vial of the potion.
She smiled and thanked her. Indeed, she was truly grateful the voodoo priestess had helped her, along with several others.
Teleporting herself to the domain of the three women who controled the lives of almost everyone, she stepped inside the great hall.
It was Clothos who approached her first, rising from her seat which faced a giant loom, she was beautiful, with straight black hair that reached to the middle of her back, bright green eyes, and the splendid height of the deities.
“Do you have it, Shiro?” she asked excitedly.
The girl carrying the vial nodded and handed it to her. “And our bargain?” she asked the three.
“Done,” Lachesis said. “Little Aldreay is now free from the curse he so foolishly had brought upon himself.”
Shiro had to force herself from rolling her eyes. Yeah, it’s the fault of a nine year old kid to say the curse of the Fates to the shape-shifters are foolish. Right…
“Now, if you three will excuse me, I have to deliver the news,” Shiro said before she disappeared.
Appearing at Hades’ realm, she made her way toward Aldreay’s room. After twelve years of suffering from a curse that three non-thinking immortals had given a child, he would now be free.
She heard laughter in the room. He must’ve known the curse had been lifted, she thought as she opened the doorknob.
“Aldreay, it’s-“
She stopped mid-sentence as the scene inside the room registered to her. Alreay was in bed with another woman, whom Shiro can’t see clearly since she was behind Aldreay, and they were both under the covers with nothing on.
Pain hit her hard as she stood there, waiting for the floor to open and eat her alive. This can’t be true… and so close to the breaking of the curse. Not that she had a right to care with whomever he slept with but he had said he loved her too just the day before and now this?
“Shiro,” Aldreay said, apparently, just realizing that she was in his room. He hastily stood up, “you’re here.”
Shiro took a deep breath to calm herself. Any other time, the sight of him in his natural state would have made her appreciate the view but her anger was fast bubbling into her consciousness that she took no pleasure from seeing it.
Taking strength from deep within her, she forced herself to clear her face and smile so sweetly that it practically dripped honey.
“Sorry to disturb you,” she said in a calm voice which belied her anger. “I just thought to tell you the curse had been broken. Not that I need to since you already are taking advantage of it.”
“Shiro, it’s not what you think it is,” he said.
She just shook her head. “Don’t tell me what to think. I happen to know what this is, and you know very well that.” Shrugging, she continued, “Excuse me then, I have to leave so you can both continue.”
With a smile, she quickly disappeared.
Appearing in a realm that stank of pure evil and torture, she made her way to a door and entered it. Inside was dark and the smell was bad enough that made her want to hurl. Indulging herself, she emptied her stomach contents in a corner and wiped her mouth. Determined, she made her way to the opposite wall and sank down beside a battered body in chains.
“You shouldn’t be here,” the figure said.
Shiro placed her hand on the guy’s shoulder and healed him from his wounds. “I have nowhere else to go,” she said. “I don’t want dad and Uncle Sav to know… They might kill him.”
“And you think I won’t?”
“You might,” she replied softly as she replaced her hand that was on his shoulder with her forhead. “But you’re also the only one who knows about this.”
He sighed. “And what a pain that is. Go on, I know you want to cry.”
He was met with silence broken by a random sob. Drawing her to his arms he hugged her tight as she cried her heart out. Her heart had been broken and he swore the next time he sees Aldreay, he will make sure to break every single bone in his body.
