Be All Poetic and Lose Our Minds Together. (The Last of Us)

ch 1

So first up, I'm not the best writer, so excuse that. But this is a little fanfic of Ellie and Riley from The Last Of Us: Left Behind. This is about how Ellie's blood gets into Riley's bite and it makes her immune. Enjoy!

We had just turned the CD that Riley made for me on. We were dancing and having a fun time, it made me feel like I wasn't some solider fighting for survival. For the first time, it made me feel like I was actually a kid. I was still upset that Riley was going to be leaving me.

"Don't go," I say weakly, looking into Riley's eyes. I feel tears stinging as they come up to the surface of my eyes. Riley pauses for a moment, then grabs her FireFly necklace and swiftly pulls it off; breaking at the chain.

I kissed Riley, I loved her. "Sorry."

"For what?" Riley said, somewhat happily.

I guess me and Riley felt the same about each other. Then the growling started. Oh, God, more infected. Why here, why now? I didn't want to fight anymore damn infected. We had no choice, I guess. Riley got out her gun, and I got out my knife.

We started tearing those goddamn infected up. Somehow we had gotten overpowered. The infected were attacking Riley, I grabbed the one that was attacking her, and slit it's throat. Something was wrong, I just couldn't put my finger on it. Then I looked down at my arm, bite marks. I had been bitten. I wasn't alone, she had been bitten on her hand in the space between her thumb and index finger.

Oh God, why was this happening? Now both of us are going to die and become one of those things. I sit down next to Riley, hugging my knees. This was it. This was the last time I would ever see Riley's brown eyes that were full of life. All we had to do now was wait.

"What are we going to do?" I said sadly to Riley.

"I guess we just wait, we can be all poetic and lose our minds together," she said with tears bubbling in her eyes.
