ch 3

We were half-way to our destination, when we come across a small body of water. It looked deep, goddamn it. I really wish Riley and I learned to swim, it would come in handy now. There was no other way across, but we couldn't just turn around, they were probably getting suspicious now. I wish we didn't turn to that rest stop, that put us on a total detour.

What the hell, there's no other way. Might as well learn to do so now. I jump in. Surprisingly it isn't that deep, but I did hurt my foot from jumping, but it'll heal. Then Riley jumps in after me. We made our way across the huge puddle. God, it was freezing. We made it out, and sat in the sun to dry off for awhile. As we were going back, we found some sunscreen and food.

We found a huge store on the way there, I looked at the sign and it said it was a Wal-Mart. Whatever the hell that is. We found a way in, clickers were everywhere. We managed to close the door without alarming them that we were there.

I killed the clickers with my knife so Riley could save her bullets. We also found more ammo inside. We looted around and packed everything important in our bags. There were so many things to play with! So many things I've never seen in my entire life. Riley picks up two boxes.

"Look, water guns," she says wide eyed. I already knew where this was going, another water gun fight. The only problem, we needed water. There had to be some source of water here. We have to stealth through the big store so we don't run into danger, we can't take anymore chances. We come across these tanks of water, probably fish or turtle tanks, and take the kids off to fill our guns with water.

"Do you think we're going to be safe in here," Riley questioned. "I just don't want anything bad to happen to us again."

"There could be one at the most, but we do need to get rid of them. Here, get on top of that shelf."

"E-Ellie, what do you have planned. Please don't get yourself killed," Riley sounded worried. I guess she forgot that we're immune.

"I'll try not to."
