Chapter 1

All that could be heard was the sound of the car and my beating heart. The vehicle slowed down as it moved through the trees. Then there it was, the large intricate gates at the entrance of the school. School, ha! This place looked like a mansion in disguise! BEEP! "Hello. What is it that you need this fine day?" a female voice crackled through the speaker at the gate. "Grace and Valentine drop off" my driver, Glow, said back. "Come right in!" Ah yes, Valentine. I forgot to mention, my best friend and partner in crime, Lizzie Valentine, was joining me on this adventure. She had been going here since her first day of high school. I told her not to tell me anything about the people here till I got to the school.

The limousine came to a stop at the front of the dormitory. Yes dormitory. It was separated in half, but boys and girls "lived" in the same building. My father thought it was a bad idea to separate males and females since this was a school of peace. I was, thank god, roommates with Lizzie. The door to my left popped open. Lizzie stepped out into the sunlight and hissed. Liz was five foot five, one inch taller than me. She had black hair parted to the left, that reached down to just above her lower back. Her emerald greens eyes reflected the sun.

"Are you a vampire or something?" I chuckled. She turned to face me, "Yes, yes I am." We shared a laugh. I grabbed my galaxy backpack and exited my side of the car, which Glow had just opened. Glow was around twenty seven. His real name was Xavier, but we nicknamed him Glow because of his radiant smile. I gave the six foot brunette a bear hug. "Bye Glow. Take care!" "And goodbye to you, young Grace!" He hopped back in and drove away.Lizzie came to stand next to me as I stared at the dorms. "Well then roommate, lets get to our room!" Lizzie took my hand and guided me to the four story building.
