Have you ever been told that you can't do something that you enjoy?

That no matter what you do they will bring you down, and when they bring you down you tell your self to get back up and carry on climbing, to reach your dreams.

Then you slip back down on the cruel words of another.

Have you ever wanted to take that one thing you enjoy the most one step further?

But let me guess, there's obstacles in the way and you can't get round or over them?

Yeah.

Me too.

Hi, i'm Taylor.

I am 16, i have brown hair and hazel eyes and i am 5ft7. My grades in school are slipping and lets say i'm lucky that i haven't been kicked out of my house yet. I live with my parents and my older brother, Eric who is 18. I have been bullied for as long as i can remember because i'm different, because i'm not like them. I don't look like them, i don't listen to their music, i dress differently and i do things a different way. I guess i brought it upon myself as i isolated myself away from people so i guess i'm an easy target. Anyway...

I have a passion for one thing and one thing only.

Skateboarding.

Every spare minute i have, i go and skate, i don't care where i am, i will skate... even if it leads to me being arrested 4 times, but that doesn't matter. I have been skating since i was 12, and i have dreamed of entering one of the biggest skating competitions . The X games.

However there is one problem, ok two. Maybe three:

1. My parents won't let me, apparently i wont get anything out of it and i have my 'future' to think of. What they don't understand is that skating IS my future.

2. Everyone around me seems to give me a reason not to go.

3. I'm a girl.

Skateboarding is viewed as a guy sort of thing.

I think it's pathetic and sexist.
