Our lives were flat. When we first wondered about whether our world was truly flat like we always believed we began to question our entire exsistence. When someone first killed someone the world began to question more than just our exsistence. They began to question their own specific purpose.

Darker thoughts, such as killing others, plagued their minds. Our minds.

With those darker, bleaker thoughts came darker, bleaker beings. Those darker beings began to spread around the world. Most of our population were one. Most of those beings were and are killers. The ones who were still humans and non-killers feared these beings. That's why Gotham City became the center point for most darker beings. Almost as if a safe spot darker beings herded there.

Meanwhile, the humans began to make a mutual decision to shun them. They only resorted to killing those darker beings if they killed. But they didn't harm or disturb them if they didn't in return.

Over the years both species tried to either destroy the other or come to terms with the other. Each time it ended in great failure so, they moved on to new topics. As in learning the scientifics of each type of darker being.

A brilliant human scientist with a darker being for a son and wife began to study about them closer up and from a friend's point of view. His wife and son had transparent bodies that could move in and out of things. They had been living for more centuries than he could count, he named their rarity of darker being as 'Ghost'. He continued looking at more and more darker being creating more than fifty rarities of darker being. He planted and placed each of his findings in a notebook; a journal filled to the brim with knowledge of every darker being their was. This book was later published. It was a light in the darkness for all darker beings because this gave them hope that some humans actually cared about them.

This scientist had handled his knowledge of darker beings with care, but other scientists tended to be more hostile and unforgiving to darker beings. This lead to experiments, both deadly or seriously harming towards darker beings. These exterminated more than half of their species. And all of the darker being's hopes.

Nowadays, experimentations were more common.

Nowadays, deaths were more common.

Nowadays, humans were more often seen sneering at a 'non-purity'.

Nowadays, you'd see perfect Bruce Wayne and perfect Damian Wayne strutting the streets as if they were above life.

Nowadays, almost everyone forgot about darker beings.

Nowadays, everyone thought darker beings were just a myth. A story that adults tell children to freak them out at camp outs or to teach them life lessons.

Nowadays, the darker beings were of small proportions. The majority still reside in Gotham and Blüdhaven. Most of that majority are Vampires. Jason Todd was apart of that large puzzle piece. He was a darker being who had killed, but only to survive. He lives alone. His parents no more. His spirits were no more. His only partner was a piece of bread. For a twelve year-old it wasn't the most promising situation, but it was better than most situations in Jason's book.

While Jason was rummaging through trashcans set at the backs of run down restaurants another darker being was on the run. This darker being wasn't necessarily sure of what he was running from, just that he had to get as remotely far from it as possible. His instincts said so. So here he was on the brink of the savior city for darker beings; Gotham. Thirteen year-old Dick Grayson was positive it was the beginnings of greatness for him. He wanted that desperately. And for a Werewolf it was a farfetched thought. Yet still a thought.

These two kids were of the beings who were shunned by the majority of Earth's population. And the minor fraction of their species who were still sane and alive. That was all that mattered for them at the moment anyways; survival. They had no account that they would want and need much more later on. For they both had lost everything they had.
